Will take 12 to 18 months to get planning permission. Assuming we do this before we build this time!! I checked their finances before posting, they seem to break even, more or less, each season £845k loss 2021 and £300k loss 2022.

That's not apples for apples though. There should be a value exercise carried out by the club to justify the pricing strategy. The fact that within a few hours of an announcement they are scrambling around trying to appease, tells us that they are making it up without any thought. To compare to a concert is fine but do the market research on it. Also other activities that people do on a Saturday afternoon. Cost of living, employment rate, comparison with other sports clubs and competitors, take up of different areas of the ground, our facilities, the entertainment on offer. It just seems like fag packet planning. It’s reactive. The same as the managerial appointment was, the same as deadline day sitting around waiting for the phone to ring was. Not a good start from the new blokes, let’s hope they learn as they go.

Problem with this lot is they do not learn from their mistakes. They have zero clue about our fan base . They can blow as much smoke up our arses with nice little sweetener letters but the facts remain . "THEY JUST DONT UNDERSTAND"

The Ticketmaster site says you can renew or pick a new ticket. Trying to buy one for south stand instead of renewing and keeps declining payment. Spoke to bank, nothing wrong with card. If you can't 'downgrade' why is the option there. Same with me, even tried partners card. Thought it might be my PC, so I tried using my phone but wouldn't accept password. Tried resetting that, but there is no link in the reset email.

Normally a big purchase - in my case - would prompt my bank app to ask me to confirm it was a legitimate payment but thats prompted by whoever's trying to take the money. Worked the 5th time.

On top of season ticket prices there is a £3.50 service charge. Has anyone renewed at the shop and did you have to pay the service charge?. I have emailed Pete but not had a response yet. I clocked that! Ticket master are thieving bastards, but it seems to be the norm nowadays. I booked tickets at the Hippodrome a few months back and the service charge was nearly a fiver.

A lot has already been posted about prices, so I won't go there for long. However, I recall not that long ago there being categories for U11, 12-18,18-21,Adult and over 65 as well as the family saver, all of which seemed perfectly sensible to me. I took advantage of the family saver and my 2 lads are now adult season ticket holders, a little proof of the scheme working, so glad to see that back.
I want to put a slight counter point to the matter of heavily discounted child season tickets.
Once a season ticket is sold, that space is gone on match day, so if the ticket holder doesn't turn up, there is a space left unfilled. If child season tickets were heavily discounted then I'm sure there will be many (not all) who would get one on a just in case / we'll go the the big games only basis. That doesn't help the club.
What will help, and will encourage younger supporters is incentives like quid a kid / free program / burger / signed player pic etc and the club should communicate that this will continue going forward.
As the capacity increases, so does the ability to offer greater discounts on tickets. As has been posted, we're in a so so season, and still doing fairly well on attendance figures.
Add to that, if we want a decent squad with minimal loans we (will) have to pay decent wages without significant TV money or sponsorship.

I said a long way back in this thread, match day prices and flexibility is the key here. Especially for kids and U21s. Get that right and sell as many STs as possible has to be the aim

For those renewing, (I live in Spain and so don't have a ST), does Ticketmaster give the option of using Klarna to "Pay in 3" whereby you can (at a cost) spread the payment over three monthly payments ?

Get the discounted terrance kids place sorted. Gashead99's point is very relevant to seats.

It wasn't a season ticket game, though season ticket holders were guaranteed a place (or not as was the case for many in this instance!) The crowd was boosted on the back of a favorable cup draw. Had that not been the case, I doubt we'd sell that game out. On a separate point, I'd allow season ticket holders in for free on Bristol Street Motors (as it is now) games.

Well, we're not selling out the ground so surely a taken space is better than one not taken. If we were running at capacity or near capacity every game I could understand it more but we're miles off.

Ah, fair point. But I'd attempt to fill that space on a match by match basis - quid a kid, free school tickets etc, which brings in a number of full paying adults, probably generating greater revenue than heavily discounted child season tickets. And, just to clarify, I am in favour of reintroducing the age banding I mentioned in my first post.

I suppose another issue to throw into the mix is that this is the start of a transition to an all seater stadium as the Mem is redeveloped. I agree entirely that the club should be attracting new supporters of all ages but particularly children. In addition different ways of financing the purchase of S/T’s should always be available. Perhaps there should also be a scheme where if you have purchased S/T’s continuously over a long period then you would be rewarded with a significant discount. Another possibility is to offer a certain number of S/T’s for children at a very competitive and attractive price. It could not be open ended because we do not have a large enough capacity. In spite of all the issues raised I think we will sale more S/T’s because of the South Stand. 6 of us have renewed in the South Stand today. 3 of us renewed this morning. Transfer from Thatchers end to South Stand. Last season £199, this time £249. Fifty quid extra to sit down. Happy days. Sounds as though the South Stand will be taken over by Gaschat Ultras!
