Ryan Loft just notched a vital goal for Vale, 1 up at Burton. Hope he's not heating up for facing us... Best goal he scored for us was away to Vale.Suspect that goal (we did score three) swayed them to buy him.He also scored a cracker away to Exeter but overall a big disappointment. |

Loft's miss yesterday was virtually identical to his chance he took for us at Vale Park, although he redeemed himself later by scoring the winner. |

Some managers would pay good money for defenders who could clear a ball as far as Loft’s first touch. Commendable work rate and seemed a decent chap but not a very good footballer unfortunately. |

Some managers would pay good money for defenders who could clear a ball as far as Loft’s first touch. Commendable work rate and seemed a decent chap but not a very good footballer unfortunately. Typical big league 2 centre forward . If we hadn’t won promotion he may well have played an important part the following season but not good enough for league 1. But as you said , always have it everything workrate was never a problem. |

Apologies for being a pedant, but we only scored three in that game at Vale. When he got a run in the side around October last season Lofty looked good. Then got injured and never recaptured that form. As others have said, always gave his all, but probably a League two player really. |
