JCH didn’t sign because he moved the goal posts at the last minute asking for more money. Just like I said (guessed) all along ! Exactly as I also said. But most wouldn’t have it🤷🏻♂️

The big one for me was the suggestion the new stand budget was £1.6m but actually cost £3m! Plus the whole ground networking is being updated to deal with the constant issues of the network going down. The lack of investment in the Mem previously seemed a constant theme of the evening. Unfortunately nobody asked what type of development we should expect for the East Stand but apparently the car park will be out of use when work starts, so it sounds like some major work will be taking place. Yes, he hinted that the increased cost was 'hurt money' from the council. Internet network being updated and TV's to go into the Southstand concourse apparently. However (and this I find hilarious) we only have one tv box at the moment, so what ever is showing on that box, will be showing on all tvs around the ground. Apparently, they have been showing the news in the bars at half time and before the game due to this. Maybe with the new Internet infrastructure, they can buy a few firesticks for the tv's... Yes, the picture painted was that Wael sweated the assets but oversweated them. They did ask about the East Stand but was given a candid answer "It will look very different to what it looks like".

Didn't someone on here say that the Quarters was going to be sold for housing some time ago? IIRC the poster got shot to bits but it appears they were partially correct..

A harmonious meeting. Some takeaways. Abdullah and family do have a business model and are heavily focused on infrastructure improvements that will make us a sustainable Championship Club. The club has lacked investment in the past in a number of key operational areas - catering, ticketing, point of sales, network connectivity, etc. The Fruit Market was nothing more than a concept, even if that mature!! This was quite a shocking revelation. George Friend came across as a poised individual, again with a plan, but some misgivings about budgets. The South Stand was massively over-budget. £1.3 million, if I understood the figures correctly. Personally, I don't believe that Tom Gorringe will be with us for that much longer. A lot of the criticism from Abdullah pointed at operational matters, many of them in existence since 2017. Basically, Abdullah pulls all the strings now, making Tom Gorringe's role seem less important than what is traditionally associated with CEO. i thought that TG had the look of someone who had checked out already. He pretty much said that he was told he couldn't communicate to the fans through the programme any more. He looked pretty disinterested all night.

There was something that Abdullatif said about the quarters that I picked up on. Could be something, could be nothing. He said that they were thinking of building a stand there so that people could watch the under 21's. Now, someone jump in with the wording of that covenant. Is it fans cannot watch a sporting event or we cannot charge for fans to watch a sporting event?

I also noticed the body language, but did not want to come across as an amateur detective, like Columbo.

According to my sources Tom Gorringe looked like a man “destined for prison”.

It was the planners not a covenant, I recall something along the lines of fans cars causing too much congestion on Hortham Lane. I guess plans can always be updated?

Thanks for the updates, a lot of it sounds positive. I'm not sure we will be able to get a category 1 academy,I don't think many clubs have them and we wanted a category 2 academy years ago, but we haven't achieved it.
How can we say we need to cut costs, but we are going to spend millions?? I know if we get it right, it could potentially make a lot of money, but it's a big risk.

Thinking about tonight’s claim that we’ll be spending 30-35m on the quarters creating 13 pitches and an indoor dome to make cat 1 academy and the stadium rebuild. Surely just the first part is going to cost £15 million (at least ) ? 500k a pitch at a guess plus the dome which must be at least a few million? Just the south stand was 3.1 M . Not sure the numbers stack up .

That’s my notes, I may have misunderstood?

The only clubs at our level with Cat 1 academy's are Derby & Reading.
There's only 5 clubs at our level or lower with Cat 2 academy's as well. Barnsley, Bolton, Charlton, Colchester & Crewe.
I'd be very happy with a Cat 2 academy, let alone Cat 1.
It will take a lot of investment that's for sure.

Cat 1 running costs are about £3m per year of which about £1m is available in funding.
