Started well when he first got here but this is becoming a little embarrassing, I get it "it's not his players and all that" but other managers have done fine at other clubs, very concerned about next season hopefully I'm so wrong and would give anything to be proven wrong. UTG Did you go to the game?

It shows that, at times, stats mean nothing. Outplayed totally. This is a manager issue as a good manager would get a performance out of this squad. I accept he’s going to be given a transfer window. I hope he uses it well. The big question is how big of a budget will he get ?.I mean he's failed the first objective which is to improve on the previous manager . Players performances have gone back. Team selection is all over the place and crowds are dropping. Let's say we only get 3-4 points from a possible 15 align that to our current form. What size budget is a big question . not a lot if the demand of season tickets grinds to a halt

I hope he uses it well. I thought he did get a performance out of the team. The forward line let him down by not putting the ball in the back of the net. I thought we played some good football at times. They score from their first shot on target in the 2nd half. That kind of says it all really. Disagree. Another regular defeat against one of the better teams in the league. How many times have we lost in 2024, to some of the worst teams in the league? I wonder what target the owners set MT when he got the job. I can’t imagine it was to finish 15th?

Alex Hartridge played his last game for Exeter today. Maybe in coming ?? Out of contract at end of season. Have Exeter said they are not picking him again? He was made captain today but manager said he is unlikely to play in last 4 Games!

So how will this season end, 11 games without a goal or win, can any manager really survive such an awful end to a season? Hopefully not, seems lots of changes will take place over the summer if the hospitality jungle drums last week are true. Left the ground on our 2.5hr journey back to Devon feeling as distant and underwhelmed with the club as I ever have done

I thought we played quite well but our squads weaknesses were there for all to see. We only have one goal scorer in the squad and that’s Martin, if he’s marked out of the game we generally don’t score. We have no pace in the side whatsoever, Thomas is a tricky winger but hasnt much pace and is probably our fastest player. Taylor has to be given support financially and with recruitment and then we’ll see where he can take us. I’m judging Barton on what this squad does more than Taylor as other than one signing it’s Barton’s squad and I’m not saying Taylor is the answer I don’t know but he’s generally picking our best players and they seem to be trying so I’m not sure what more he can or could have have done up to this point other than mid table which to be fair is better than Barton , Tisdale or Garner did for us in league 1. Patience is key. Will he be given that support tho ? I’m doubtful 🙃💙

We were absolutely battered today. Yes, there were some sparks of life at the start of the second half, and a couple of players actually decided to press (our Costa Rican loanee mainly). But Bolton never stepped out of first gear and still managed to walk through us at will. For all the carrying the ball forward we tried (mostly Connelly), all we did was run it into trouble. We looked dire. Martin is a sly player but looks knackered. LT one who looks like he actually cares along with Connor and Evo. Sinclair giving it his best but spending more time as a left back. Jevani Brown an absolute masquerade of a footballer. Jed Ward not the answer in goal if we are serious about pushing for the playoffs next season. Conteh, Grimsby got one hell of a deal out of us for him, and if that’s MTs level of signing we will be back in league 2 soon. The most worrying is a number of times seeing the players slagging each other off ‘s**t pass’. For me, we have to cut our losses, get rid of MT now and try to find someone who will actually be able to rebuild this squad. we weren’t absolutely battered today I don’t think we were battered, 🤔 we just weren’t very good ! 🙃💙

Patience is key. Will he be given that support tho ? I’m doubtful 🙃💙 I think he’ll be given around the same support in terms of league 1 football as the likes of Barton , Coughlan and DC were given which in my opinion is probably around a mid table budget. Not a lot has changed since they were here to be fair so I don’t see why our budget in relation to the rest of the league would be that different? I get that the ones who are saying “ enough is enough “ are frustrated that it’s been so long since we were a championship side that it feels like a distant memory and they want more and they think I’m setting my sights too low with my posts but we just simply are not a big club in league 1 and it’ll take giving a manager time to build something great to achieve promotion but it’s unlikely in our current situation anyway. The Mem holds around 11,000 not that big and we’ve got very little in the way of non match day income which pales in comparison to many other other sides in league 1 every season. If you’re only bringing in money once a fortnight as opposed to everyday then that’s a massive disadvantage against your big hitting opponents. This season we’ve only looked likely to make the top 6 at one point and that was shortly after Taylor took charge we went on a bit of a run and had two home games vs opposition coming up that we all would have thought we’d pick up at least 3 points probably 4 maybe even 6 but we lost both and our seasons become a dead rubber ever since. But it’s been so much worse in very recent history. Garner sent us South very quickly and if the season hadn’t been postponed early we may well have gone down, Tisdale was awful and Barton took over in similar circumstances as Taylor and we finished bottom of league 1 without any fight whatsoever. When Barton was sacked and the overhaul began if could have easily gone south again very quickly and ended up in another relegation and I’m quite satisfied with mid table considering the turbulent season we’ve had with changes at the top right down through the club in management , staff and add to that the massively unbalanced injury prone squad lacking in pace that was built in the summer. Taylor may be just another Garner or Tisdale or he might be special , the board might support him or they might not but right now I’m biting anyone’s hand off for mid table cos this seasons been a colossal mess and that usually means relegation. On to the summer and next season it’s the hope that kills us.

We should be celebrating another clean sheet l m f a o Maybe not the most inspiring thing to say in public, but it shows he understands the problems with this team across this season so far. Up to the Leyton Orient game we'd played 35 league games and scored at least one goal in 31 of them. That level of goalscoring consistency would normally put you in at least the top six, Portsmouth had only scored in 28 games, Derby 31, Bolton 30 - that's the kind of level we were scoring at. But then clean sheets - we kept only 5 in that same period. Up to that same point (Leyton Orient at the beginning of March) we only had five clean sheets in the league. By January every team in the top six was already in double figures for clean sheets. With our early season goalscoring record pretty much every clean sheet would have guaranteed extra points - if you keep a clean sheet you can't lose, and if you score whilst keeping one you win. So whilst it's not the greatest thing to celebrate, it does suggest he understands both the strengths and the weaknesses of this current squad.

yes I did just juba bit fed up like I said I would love to be proven wrong and he gets us promoted UTG That is a very tough definition of success. Historians, please correct me if I'm wrong here but these are the promotions we have had to division 2: 1952/53 (stayed up for 10 seasons) 1973/74 (stayed up for 7 seasons) 1989/90 (stayed up for 3 seasons) The fans that are viewing any managers success by getting us promoted are saying we have only had three successful managers at the club. Seems like a tough ask.

Seems like a tough ask. Not sure many on here are judging managers success by getting us promoted, I think firstly we'd like to see us winning games (scoring goals helps!!), secondly playing attractive football, thirdly pushing for a top 10 finish with an outside chance of a top 6 finish, given the playing budget over the last couple seasons seems to have been sufficient to make all 3 possible I doubt think fans are asking for too much? As far as promotion if that is beyond the owners means they should say so instead of suggesting the Premiership was a possibility under their ownership. Would fans really not renew their season tickets if the ALS stated that establishing the club as a top 10 side was the aim over the next couple of seasons, when your figures suggest that we're use to life in L1!! attractive foo

My whole point was about keeping clean sheets whilst we were on a run of scoring in virtually every league game....
