Sorry if there is already a thread for this, but I very much hope we can get Elkan back next season. If Ipswich go up, maybe as a perm. If they don’t they maybe keen to loan out again? Does the defensive things well. Tall and strong. a real threat in front of goal. Maybe he can teach Connor too! Good work lad.

We need more than one decent striker Oldie even if we do keep Martin because you would hope that MT is going to change from the one up front which makes us a very defensive side which certainly is not our strength and hasnt been for years. We know very little about our owners and what financial clout they have or are willing to use. You can have an owner as rich as Lansdown but if he is not prepared to put the money into the club then it is no use and could easily take the club into administration. We will only find out by what happens over the summer and the sort of players we are signing For me an experienced keeper would be a good place to start then to make sure we have a balanced squad and are not overloaded with any particular area.

Yep, probably. But, personally, I would like to see a proper plan and direction of travel. Funded. No kids stuff and cheap promises. I thought we had that in our first season back in L1 after back to back promotions under DC and the new (then) owners. But it has turned out to be chaotic. It remains to be seen if this new lot can deliver anything like that.

Shaky start but he's showing his ability now and I think he's a class above. Get him back alongside Connor and just spend all week training attacking corners - those two both being, what, 6'5+ means we should be very dangerous in both boxes!

Surely the transfer would pay itself off in the amount of merchandise and ifollow passes sold to Indonesian fans.

We play 1 up top like a lot of teams do now, be it 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-3. It's not the 1 up top that is the problem per se, it's the players filling those 3 or 4 positions

Depends on the cost as he could become a great asset with a good chance of selling on for profit or helping take us to Championship. It's a massive gamble but one that has to be taken if you want to progress.

Pretty sure we felt the same about McCormick, Connolly and Taylor, I doubt we could give the first two away for free now and the last one seems to have lost his way.

I would ideally play a formation with two strikers who pressurise the game and stop opponents walking out with the ball. Many teams play with one up front but have three attackers really because they pressurise the back four. Too often we play with only one player running around up top with no chance of pressuring and winning the ball. Saturday the inclusion of Rossiter allowed both Sinclair and Thomas to play an attacking game instead of having to spend all their time dropping back. When you see Rossiter playing you realise what a great class player he is and how far Conteh has to go to get anywhere near that level. The inclusion of Cox as well made a big difference because he is a better keeper than Ward but is not one of our own. Supporters hounded him out of the team but i think that Taylor should make an experienced keeper who is built strong enough to play in this division to be his first signing but not a loanee.
