Rumours are Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to buy him from Newcastle. Good luck to the lad!

Still a bargain if Forest also pay £4m for Bogarde!
What's Quansah worth, £50m? An odd rumour yesterday that Newcastle were trying to swap Gordon for him but Liverpool weren't interested.

35M! Seems ridiculous but that’s football today Agreed - especially with Palmer being "only" £40m. He looks a proper bargain in these inflationary times.

How many of the fees are artificial to get round the financial fair play, or whatever it's called. Selling a homegrown player is pure profit thus greater impact on the accounts.

Forest sign Anderson for £35 million, and Newcastle sign Odysseas Vlachodimos Forests 3rd choice keeper for £20 million.
They both stay within PL spending rules, so both are happy.

The goalkeeper fee hasn't been reported, but sounds like it's more in the 5-6m region (according to Sky's Keith Downie) rather than something massively inflated, many just assumed it would be similarly inflated in a scratch each others back situation. He sounds woeful though so it's probably done them a favour whatever the fee is. We could possibly see another Forest player coming here for an inflated fee, or perhaps a Dominguez or Danilo rocking up at a Saudi club in the coming weeks, but Forest likely will be compensated further in some way, such is the way football is going at the moment. A shame we had to sell him. He would possibly have struggled for minutes next season with no European football and us being pretty stacked in the wide left / midfield department, but always a shame to see a young, local player leave, although it is far better than losing Bruno / Isak / Gordon, and hopefully he goes on to have a good career at Forest.

Just another case of the Premier league sticking their fingers up at the rest of the pyramid. The sad thing is they are doing it to get around ffp rules etc in spite of the fact the league have said they will be looking into every transfer fee and whether this player or that is actually worth the fee paid. IMHO £35 million for Anderson and £20 million going the other way for a keeper who couldn’t even get in Forests side, clearly shows that these teams hierarchy are taking the water.

Unfortunately, its unlikely the clubs latest owners will ever be in a position to bring in any other than bargain basement valued players, which tbh is not a problem, as the club has always been fishing in that pond. It was only because of Joeys connection as a past premiership player at Newcastle United that the club was able to attract a loan player like Eliot Anderson. It will be interesting to see what level of loanee MMT will attract to the club. Really looking forward to seeing what he has on parade at Melksham Town on Friday.

The problem is that we are contratcually oliged to give game time to some of the better loan signings and that doesnt make for a healthy team spirit if some of our own players are sacrificed.

I doubt it makes any difference who are manager is, it's not like either Newcastle or Liverpool were rushing to loan us more players last season. At least this season we hopefully won't have many crocks like Wilson & Hunt taking up a decent part of the budget.
