Congratulations to Gloucestershire's Gashead Bracey who made his personal best first class score of 204 not out.
He also had 9 victims in the remarkable last ball tie in the County Championship with Glamorgan as Glam just failing to get a world record run chase at Cheltenham.

Yep ,good to see a Gas Head doing so well again, think confidence took a knock following his deserved but disappointing venture into test cricket, just gotta beat Somerset in the T20 coming up! they had an astonishing win yesterday by the way!

His one handed catch with glove off on the last ball to secure the tie and prevent Glamorgan achieving a world record run chase is worth a watch (as is his celebration)

The Gloucestershire web-site has a link to about 10 minutes of highlights from yesterday's game, and James Bracey's catch at the end is superb, well worth a look. What a great finish to the game yesterday. I was at Cheltenham on Sunday when 13 wickets fell and it didn't look like a game which was going to end in a Tie. And yes, good win for Somerset. No target in four day cricket seems too high these days.

James Bracey did very well. After a few lean seasons he’s having a very good one with bat and behind the stumps. Dropping down the order has suited him. And a great catch to finish a remarkable tie. Kept his nerve when all around him players would have been wishing that the ball never came anywhere near them! The Somerset win was remarkable. Watched all four days of it. Warwickshire were effectively 230-0 on Tuesday afternoon but we bowled well and yesterday the Toms all did well. Was confident of the win from just after lunch. Would have been the most amazing match of this year’s championship but you lot and Glamorgan must have had the most incredible match ever. Well done everyone! What an effort from Glamorgan, when they were 8 wickets down with plenty to get Gloucestershire had it won but Mason Crane nearly did it. I doubt anyone who watched the match will ever forget it. Incredible. UTG!

it's a shame this format of the game has to make way for the 'gimmicky stuff' now, suppose that's what makes all the money, such is life!

Move to general sport section. Not BRFC related Mr Grumpy. [br Not at all. I posted a while ago about the loss of a sporting legend JPR Williams, and it was immediately moved to General Sport. So James Bracey is a Rovers fan so bloody what? Cricket has a place on General Sport not on this section. I have no problem with Mr Bracey or cricket, but let's adopt the same ruling.

Sorry TBone. Nothing personal, but Bracey has scored his second double hundred this season, which is one hell of an achievement, with his highest score of 207no.
This Gashead can give anyone inspiration in any walk of life. We all go through bad patches.
The way he reached the heights of an England cup at a young age, but then was slaughtered in the cricket media after some poor performances, his head was not right afterwards apparently, and his performances for Glos both with bat and gloves suffered. He has now bounced back brilliantly. Fair play to the lad.
To make it more Gaschat relevant, I bet a few critics are saying negative things about some current Rovers players. This can lead to a domino effect with the lack of support making players performances worse.
It's amazing how a bit of regained confidence can make someone appear a totally different player and vice versa with a loss of confidence.
Maybe if we all were a bit more positive and perhaps "supported" players, better results may come.

Well said. Very pleased for him. And Ben Charlesworth who also got a double ton. Let’s hope the bowlers can get ten wickets, though the pitch is looking a bit flat and slow.
