Do we have a right to anonymity on the forum? What do you mean? We don't use or pass on your data if that's what you mean. To the best of my knowledge neither do proboards. The only information we have on anyone is their email address. Proboards make money from ads that are on the forum and/or if we decided to pay proboards to be ad free. As alluded to on another thread, this forum actually costs me money to provide. That said, Gassy graciously offered to pay our fee this year and going forward all of the mod team will take it in turns to cover the (low) cost to keep the forum running. None of us are particularly arsed who any of you are so long as you behave. |

I would always refer to somebody by their Forum name, unless they specifically said that they prefer for their actual name to be used.

Nobody should be doxed online if that is what you mean
Obviously some people know each other and will use real names, but if anyone is uncomfortable with that, I would expect them to say.
I have never hid who I am, and don't personally care what moniker or name anyone would use when talking to me but that is personal choice, as it should be to anyone who wishes to remain anonymous
(I would say the right to anonymity is given up, in the instance of proven criminality)
