Precisely why just looking at a load of numbers doesn’t tell you everything. Eyes on the player every time . Not arguing this, was just querying exact what Pirate's data was meant to be stating. |

Evo was not a great success at Crewe, their fans did not rate him. He ended up in Germany and look at what a great success he was with us. Friend and Taylor must see something in him, and so does Darrel at Barnsley, so here’s hoping. Again, as per post above, I'm not writing him off yet. Quite frankly, I know nothing about him. I was just querying exact what Pirate's data was meant to be stating. |

Presumably GF and anyone else involved in recruitment have seen enough raw attributes and potential to justify this sort of outlay? A completely polished and proven striker will most likely be out of our price range and headed for a bigger club or above this division? Not arguing this either, just that the data doesn't scream of a £500k player. I know nothing about him and haven't seen him, so very open-minded. Hope he's successful and the fee doesn't weigh heavy on his shoulders. Nice to see us breaking a transfer record that pre-dates my birth! And credit to the owners for putting actions alongside their words. |

You cant judge a player on statistics with another club because how the players around him perform can have a big influence. You can only judge the success and value of these signings at the end of the season. Personally if they can now get a signing like Devante Cole over the line I will consider it a very good close season but only the results will answer the questions as to value.
