Someone has just posted on the Vanarama Conference facebook page that Wrexham fans were singing, "Bristol Rovers, they're coming for you!". Top class!

Yes, this was the type of result we needed to pull off to catch Barnet, the added bonus today was they lost & also Macclesfield let in a late equaliser. You do have to start wondering whether Macclesfield are now our biggest threat and the televised game could well decide who wins the Championship, as whoever wins that game could well be in the driving seat? It's surprising how Barnet have imploded recently, Akinde sending off being the icing on the cake. I wouldn't say they have imploded. They have 9 points from last possible 18. We have 12. We're catching them, but slowly. Keep it up and we'll get there. They've lost the last 3 away games, I'd called that imploding when compared to their previous impressive form. If they don't beat Grimsby, which must be possible without Akinde, we could go top if we win our next 2 home games, which look very winnable. Assuming we can now cope with the pressure. What look for so long a 1 horse race has suddenly become a 2 horse race in the space of a week.

But... 2 horse race? really. macc fans might think that is very arrogant. they have possibly the 'easiest' run in of all teams, and the best home record in the League. And guess who they play at home... yes, us. Personally, I think we are getting better and better (and still have The Beard and the easter to come back) and have nothing to fear from anyone, but still, I would never say it's a 2 horse race! Given their excellent recent form I'd say Alty and Braintree are potential banana skins. We will need to be very professional and maybe patient.

But they've won their last 3 home games. They haven't imploded. They are still top by 4 clear points. I think, as you do, that we can catch them. But it's not going to be easy and if we do it within the next 2 games I'll be delighted and buy a virtual pint for everyone on the forum. I think it'll take 6 to 8 more games before we catch them up and then we need to make sure that we don't implode like we did in 1999-2000.

Rich better make some more spaces available on that bus. ![:metal:](http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/party/party0031.gif) The bus is never full. It always accepts new passengers. I can't believe myself. We might actually do something ground-breaking!I think you'll find we already achieved that last season!

Away from home they've imploded, with Akinde missing next week I'm expecting them to now struggle at home against Grimsby, fail to win that one and they'll then be under enormous pressure to win their next away game,.

I can't see that we'll implode like in 1999/2000. That year we had a great first team but a thin squad. We have seen this year that we can cope with injuries. However we can't be complacent and The Macc lads are are a challenge as well

We've been chasing for all of this, whereas 1999/2000 saw us lead for a long time - similar to Barnet in fact. I'm not counting any chickens or taking anything for granted because Alty and Braintree will be tough games, but to go top (regardless of the games in hand situation) would be a huge psychological advantage.

I didn't realise you were a Macclesfield fan? Macc's currect form is 16pts from 6 games, almost 18 pts from 6 on Saturday, ours just 12 pts from 6, the TV game could be the important come the end of the season.

Because Macclesfield are above us, which is a worry as if we manage to lose at thier place they could well go on and win the title, all a bit surprising given our poor they were at the Mem, and they couldn't even fill the bench.
