I dunno mate, he’s not in the line of sight at all He may not be in the keeper’s eye like but he’s miles offside and certainly a distraction at the very least. If that goal was given against us we’d be absolutely livid. Assuming the officials got it right in the Wolves v Man C game on Sunday then it no longer matters being a distraction, the players has got to block the goalies line of sight.

Just got back..
A genuine pleasure to be with some not been to football with for a while, on an evening competing with best of European football has to offer live on cosy TV..
Anyhoos, onto something less important: Is there any better places than the Mem under lights? It's ours, we gotta make the most of it, it's just sad but understandable to see dwindling crowds and hear fewer songs on the terraces.
With actual luck going our way with dubious officiating, some poor finishing and sublime goalkeeping, I was amazed we went home with a 1-0 win! The scores could've been so much more variable.
At some point I was surprised we hadn't scored...and equally surprised we hadn't conceded at 0-0...!
For me, Shrews have early relegation luck written all over them....they had a tricky no11 and boisterous back line especially no5, but now after a dozen matches you can see why they are where they are.... and yet they carved us open at times as easily as any top team. Fair play to their travelling support though. Made some noise. Can consider themselves a tad unlucky. But they'll have plenty to talk about over their Weetabix tomorrow brekkers...
I thought Forde and Conteh handled themselves very well across the mid, no more so than in the build up to the goal. Excellent finish from Lindsay. Promise pushed and pushed and I liked Scotty first half, so our front five movement looked decent. Decent tempo. Some physicality in there, just unfortunately not brilliant finishing although Promise unlucky with hitting the bar there..
Second half we started slipping too deep, inviting them on and the Ward Bilongo subs looked to make us weaker imo....we held out....we huffed and puffed and made them look much better.
The cameo from LT and his rasping shot, probably bar still shaking now was a nice end cap to the eve ...
Much improvement needed, but I think it's best to say it looks like 2 poor teams produced a very entertaining match. But what else are you gonna do on a random autumn Tuesday? Watch the best Europe has to offer on box?
Naaaaaaaaa..... Give me a win at the Mem any time!

Hopefully that win will help confidence. Lindsey gets better with each game, he's a good player. Great full debut from Forde caused them no end of problems. We seem to be able to win despite not looking very good and being disjointed, maybe we will improve as the season goes on...

He’d need to be 4 or 5 yards to the right to be considered not involved in play imho The ball went through the gap between the keeper and the defender and the defender ducked away as it was going towards him, he wasn’t blocking the keepers line of sight but was definitely interfering with the passage of play. No goal.

Made hard work of that.
First half shrews looked worse than any football league team I've ever seen. Terrible.
We are so much better as a back 4. Pretty much everyone has been saying it all season. Why he switched to a 5 and Invited all that pressure il never know.
Id love to see us play 4231 with Thomas and forde either side of promise. I think we could cause havoc with those 3.
Anyway 3 points all that matters. Lovely giving it to the salop boys in the south stand when their goal was disallowed. Worth the extra cash to sit down that end tonight.

Just got back from the game.
Strange atmosphere, lots of space around.
We started well, Shaq looks like a good player. Someone on this thread said we didn't have a shot on targetbin the first half. They clearly didn't see the one v one against the keeper in thebfirst 5 mins. That goes in and I'm sure there would've been a second before half time.
We looked right dodgy at the back in the first half Conner Taylor was having a nightmare at the back.
We were well on top for the first 20 mins and then they started to bring the game to us. I think we were frustrated that we didn't score in the first half.
2nd half, there was a period where we pressed the way that MT had always promised and they were well panicking at the back. Lindsey was man of the match and I can't argue with that. We bossed the midfield for a good time in the 2nd half.
Then the substitutions set us back a little.
We should've had at least two penalties, possibly three.
Promise when he hit the bar, Connor Taylor was rugby tackled right in front of the ref and Promise was taken out with a high tackle that would've been a red card on the rugby pitch.
Apart from the last 15 mins, I thought we did enough and very happy we got the three points.
The goal was lovely. Nice crisp passing and a fantastic finish. We can play the ball on the ground and play it well.
We are starting to win and win ugly. We find ourselves in a pretty good place in the league. I think we can play good football and I think MT wants that too.
All the negativity on here, some of you need to give you head a wobble.

Great 3 points but we don't half make things difficult for ourselves. Thought we started really brightly & should have been in front but Shrews came back into things leading up to ht. Ironically I didn't think we started the 2nd half nearly as well but scored a really good goal & could easily have had a couple more. Then from looking fairly comfortable we switch formation to a back 3 & from then on were hanging on. I genuinely don't know why we persist with it, we looked a lot tighter defensively tonight up until that point & in all honesty got lucky with the disallowed goal & couple of other near misses. The result was the most important thing but let's hope come Sat we stick with a back 4

For once we benefit from one of Marquis' usual offsides at the Mem. For a guy of his experience he doesnt half get caught out consistently

Think you were watching a different game if you saw 3 genuine penalties, even the Sky commentating said Taylor made a meal of his challenge. We got very lucky against a bottom 4 side is the concern, I doubt we'll get the same luck on Saturday

Need to get a result Saturday otherwise we’re back to square one. I’m not sure what you mean by that , it’s a 46 game season there’s a long way to go.

He’d need to be 4 or 5 yards to the right to be considered not involved in play imho I’m not sure that’s right according to current rules. Dermot Gallagher explained interference with a keeper and offside on Sky in RefWatch on Monday. It doesn’t really matter what us fans think - I’m sure plenty some will say “if he’s on the pitch then he’s interfering“ !! The linesman never flagged. The ref came over and presumably asked him whether Marquis was in an offside position, it was then the referee who had to make the decision on whether Marquis was interfering - I think he guessed and got it wrong. If there was VAR I’m 100% sure the goal would have stood. We seem to have plenty of sh1tty referee decisions go against us and I’m more than happy that this time we got away with one! A very welcome three points at home against a very poor team. A bit worrying that we were hanging on and resorted to a flat back five but a win is a win as they say!!

Aaron Pierre did not rugby tackle Connor Taylor once.
He grabbed him, held his shirt and dragged him down to the ground at most corners.
This MUST have been very difficult to spot for the officials. If they saw it a penalty was the only outcome.

Need to get a result Saturday otherwise we’re back to square one. We’ll only be back to square one with those that have set their stool out for Taylor to go. The rest of us are relatively happy with 9/12 or even 9/15 if we lose sat . Think most people realised this season was going to have its ups & downs and that’s what we’re getting.

Their player had both hands on Taylors hips, a rugby player would've been proud of the tackle.

If they saw it a penalty was the only outcome. The most bizarre thing about that first half incident was that the referee stopped the game and called both players to him and warned them so must have been watching - he then chose to ignore it. Negligent refereeing which I hope the assessor will report him for. His general performance was awful (both ways) as seems to be the case most weeks in league one. I think referees are recruited from the RNIB membership list these days.
