Heavy rain near enough all day Thursday and Friday...
Will the covers be needed?

genuine question...
are the covers for frost or rain?
or can they be used for either?
do rain covers work, or just stop the pitch getting sun and air to it?

As I have said before on similar threads, I am quite sure we can trust the club to take note of weather forecasts etc and take the appropriate action to make sure the game is on. As far as I am concerned Fetch is spot on with his comment!

The club considered putting the covers on today - in fact the were even lifted onto the pitch this morning (done by small crane) but after receiving a print out from the Filton Meteorological office it was decided to leave them off.
The pitch is very dry and could do with a watering. The printout predicts heavy rain for Thursday and Friday morning but then clearing Friday lunchtime.
The situation will be reviewed again tomorrow.
I hope that reassures you that the club have it in hand?

I barely take any notice of forecasts more than 24 hours ahead. They just do not know. Simple as that.
