13 goals and 5 assists in the league last season in 36 games. So, that's a goal contribution every 2 games on average and he's only 22. It's so hard to say how he will do in England though, for not just footballing reasons. Will he settle into the country, the different culture etc? In the football games can he cope with the different styles? One positive is that DC seems to rate him, he said we watched him live and that him and Jon have done a lot of work on the lad. I like that DC said he chases everything and likes to run in behind. Players like that create space for others and players like Hutchinson would get more time on the ball and hopefully get further up the pitch. DC also said he knows the fans will give him time, does he not know our fans? 🤣 All players need a bit of time, but more so the foreign lads and especially the ones used to a slower tempo, less physically and aerially dominant league, like the Swiss Challenge League. He looks to have a bit of pace and technical ability, so hopefully a combination of him, Promise and Ellis can scored the required goals to get us challenging. Fab has the advantage of playing against League of Ireland sides in the Euro cup. So hopefully the way L2 sides play is not a complete shock to him. It'll be interesting to see where DC plays him, will he start alongside PO/EH or has our CF, a position he seemed to play for his Swiss club.

As I said before, he's 5'9" and usually played alongside a big man - 6'2" Kaio Eduardo, 6'1" Dejan Dokic, 6'1" Seifedin Chabbi, 6'3" Jonathan De Donno.

In the Euro cup games on YouTube he seemed to be leading the line and was their No 9. If he's going to be our No 10 then DC is going to have to move away from Saturday's starting formation.

Are you serious? Not sure how you expect a 5'9" player to compete on his own and lead the line in League Two, when Cavegn only had 0.41 aerial duels won per 90 (22.6% success rate) in Switzerland, compared to the average of 1.0 aerial duels per 90 (40-50% success rate) in League Two, and an overall duels won per 90 at 3.26 (35.8% success rate), compared to the average around 5–7 (40–45% success rate) in League Two! Good luck with that. 😆

I know nothing about the style of football in that league, or the quality. I've seen him score goals with both feet on social media, but he might have missed a lot of chances before finding the net 🤣. I try not to judge players until they play for us anyway. A lot of players that have been impressive on paper, have played rubbish for us and some under whelming signings have shined.

If you've got two hours to spare then the entire cup final game where he scored two goals last season is on YouTube.

I don't claim to be an expert on the Swiss The Challenge League, but I have previously watched a few games of both Frank Surdez and Rilind Nivokazi mentioned in the wishlist thread. Generally it regarded as a slower paced, less physical and less direct league, but of course it can vary from team to team. I'm just saying I don't think we can put too much pressure on the lad, he's going from a club that averages 1,334 attendance, to a club that got over 9,200 on Saturday. Topper suggests him leading the line on his own, but I think we need to temper expectations a little bit and don't put too much pressure on the lad and expect miracles. I am however looking forward to seeing what he can do and wish him the best of luck. I've been a big advocate of stretching our recruitment net wider and hope it works out.

Thanks Pirate for your input. I very much hope that DC moves away from gis one up front as I can never recall that formation being very successful for us and to be honest bloody boring to watch as it generally results in big boot rubbish.

Might not be the last foreign signing after what RM said on Saturday. We’re apparently allowed one more.

I'm not really suggesting anything, more like wondering how he'll fit into our line up which seems to favour 3 attacking players rather than 2 out and out forwards, without checking DC seems to have started every game this season with the former before moving to the latter in the second half when we need a goal.

Some reports that Posh are offering Conn-Clarke as part of a deal to get Archer from Cheltenham. If that deal flops I'd have Conn-Clarke here he was best player on the pitch at the Mem last season. People were raving about that signing. Assume he has flopped at Posh then? Yeah he seemed to struggle getting into the team which is surprising. Im not sure why I rate players after seeing them against us as we seem to make the most average players look like ballers!

To be fair Taylor wasn't gone at the time as was said. So they were right, when they said it was wrong.

Anybody reckon Ruel Sotiriou will be off this summer? fingers crossed he will be even shipping him out on loan might be beneficial for us. Get the impression he doesnt want to be here either. I find he has good confidence with absolutely nothing to back it up. If Pirate ran his stats through his computer thing he'd be crying if we were trying to sign him.
