Looking at what else is on the free agents market, bar Jordan Rhodes and big Piggott, I think a fit CM is our best option. Given we've just banked around £1m you'd hope we could do a bit better than free agents? That £1m will probably be earmarked towards diluting the losses or the stadium work. I’ll be amazed if it gets reinvested into the squad..

The losses will be a lot worse owning a national league side. They got us in this mess and they should get us out of it.

It’s like we’ve sorted out the fringe of the squad before the actual spine of the team. I’d fully expect us to still want/need to sign players at this stage but the players we still need to sign you could argue, are absolutely key! At this stage we should be looking to plug gaps via loans etc, we’re actually missing the spine. Definitely at CB and whilst Conteh and Mchearan are both good footballers that lack mobility massively. I don’t reckon anyone at the club realised it was quite this bad and I think even DC has had eyes well and truly opened I doubt we expected to lose CT so that's one part of the spine we didn't expect to fill?

Charlie McCann and Jordan Davies the two centre midfielders I’d be looking at.

I'm not sure that's the case given he was lining up to be our captain this season and it seems we may have even turned down their initial approach, until CT handed in his transfer request.

Three young loans from higher up the pyramid and close to the deadline would be my guess - probably from league one.

We might have been hoping he'd be captain but cannot believe for a minute we assumed he'd definitely be here It might be obvious teams would be looking but not so obvious they'd meet our asking price and CT would force a move. We clearly lined up Cavegn before confirming KS was leaving and his move had been rumored all summer. Posters seem to be giving the club a good kicking for everything, when it may not all be warranted.

My point was that we must have known it was a possibility. Quite how you can attempt to argue we'd received bids, but not have had any idea there was a possibility he might leave is astonishing, even by your standards.

I think he gets so wrapped up constantly looking for arguments he often forgets his original point. I’m never convinced he actually posts his true opinion anyway - only seems to post to antagonise and argue. Very odd !!!

RCB signing?? Aaron McGowan rumour Unlikely based on this after he rejected a contract extension from the cobblers. Full-back McGowan, 28, was offered a two-year to remain at Sixfields but has opted to return closer to his wife and new baby in Liverpool, after four years with the Cobblers. McGowan leaves after making 131 appearances and Nolan said the player departs with his full understanding. "His wife and newborn live in Liverpool and, having spoken with his family, it will be a lot to take on a new contract with us and it would make it six years away from his family if he was to stay here," Nolan said., external "He said the offer we made was really good but at this stage of his life he wants to be somewhere where he can go home every night to see his family grow up and I fully understand that."

Hmmm so where’s our number 9 we’ve been promised? (Excuse the pun) unless they’re easing him in from out wide. From his height and build you can see he's not a No 9, he's always going to need to play alongside PO or EH, I still think CM will re-sign and then Dewsbury will join a NL after the window's closed. Agree but at the fans forum RM was very clear saying we’ve got a 9 coming and then Cavegn walks in so maybe that was just sh*t coming out his mouth to appease people.

And then later, more ambiguously "number 9". But this I think was just reffering to the same thing

We are short in a few departments but we have plenty of "number 2's" in the squad.

Think people are just looking to complain when they say RM was talking rubbish
