The club has to be very careful when signing players, as previously plenty have criticised various recruitments. Rovers have often rushed signings with deep regret afterwards.

What about historically ?. Why is it we are always in the lower leauges with sub standard facilities?. Swansea Cardiff Pompey Bournemouth City soton Brentford etc were all in our situation 20 years ago. Why is it we have one of the worst ground and worst team in the football leauge. Which is exactly the same as 20 years ago and 20 years before that ?. Its a great point that you are making. I guess we'd need to look at each of those independently and I expect there will be a pivotal moment, or a sequence of events that altered their history. If we looked at our pivotal moments, be it Wembley finals, changes of ownership, missing out on things etc, I think we've had it quite rough. Some of those clubs have better organised fangroups too(think Cardiff during the red branding thing), so they can effect change. Ultimately we've never had an ownership or group of people with the club at the front and centre of their interests. We could argue about GD and that crew or NH and those guys, but at best they just kept the club running rather than pushing to different levels through investment. Grateful for that but its miles away from SL at city or Southampton and Bournemouth etc. This is my point I'm trying to make . Regardless of owners we have never had a group who are prepared to put in serious money for the long haul . When I was really young I heard the older generation saying ' it's as bad as when we had Con Stevens ' . I don't know if they were joking someone called Con I wouldn't know. When I say it's historical and in our DNA I'm meaning a continuious merry go around. Until someone comes in and breaks traditional and will fund a stadium and a squad . Nothing will never ever happen. |

If that's what DC means when he says he wants to bring in better than what we have then we are doomed I don’t think I’ve ever seen the lad play, but he’s a previous league 2 winner and made over 100+ league 1/2 appearances, so on paper already an upgrade on the majority of our defence. |

Is this freestone lad injury prone too? He doesn’t seem to really get last 28/29 (except once with 35) games a season

The we wonder why they are taking a while to get their fitness up. Some of them could be worth it, if they can get their fitness up though. |
