Geniune question, who would want to come into a football club that’s in free fall? Maybe a few depart, but I don’t see many coming in. I've pointed out how the recruitment thus far has been very Clarkean. Darrell seems to like a player from the local area; Kilgour - Bath Harrison - Newport Sparkes - Exmouth McEachran & Southwood - Oxford Southam-Hales - Cardiff It's only really Howley (Nuneaton) and of course Cavegn who are from places a reasonable distance away. I might of course be completely wrong but it seems like that's a way of pulling players into the club. It totally is. How often do one of us say, "he won't be coming south to play". It is both an emotional (being closer to family, friends inc possibly children) and probably financial (possibly the player already has accommodation in the area, or if not reduced costs of coming "home") lever |

But iirc about 30 years ago Clive Allen left QPR for Arsenal (?) and then immediately joined Spurs (?) without playing a game. But it was a long time ago. UTG! |

I wonder if a player has ever joined a club during the close season only to be transferred to another club before the start of the season? UTG. I remember Wolves converting Benik Afobe's loan to a permanent for £10million and then sold him to Stoke around 2 weeks later for £12million |

Didn't realise Antony Evans has been told he's free to leave
"a year into his three-year deal with League One Huddersfield, whom he joined from Bristol Rovers last summer, Evans has been told he is free to leave the Terriers by new boss Lee Grant."

Didn't realise Antony Evans has been told he's free to leave "a year into his three-year deal with League One Huddersfield, whom he joined from Bristol Rovers last summer, Evans has been told he is free to leave the Terriers by new boss Lee Grant." Wouldn't be against bringing Evans back. Still only 26 so no reason he can't get back to his best with regular football. It would depend on the transfer fee & wages etc. |

That was all to do with QPR not willing to sell Sansom to Palace, so they sold him to Arsenal. Allen never played a game for Arsenal and Palace got their man as they swapped Allen for Sansom |

I wonder if anyone is going to put Weirdu out of his misery at Plymouth. I think his name was mentioned as a possible Rovers target.
He is having a mare at Argle, own goal on his debut, an assist for the opposition and a sending off, I believe in his first few games and his confidence is shot.Getting dogs abuse.
Maybe a move might kick start his career, or maybe a loan till Jan on his his wages to try and regain some confidence?
