I think our new signing will start in midfield next week. Just a hunch.....! Balanta done nothing yet to demand a start. Ellis better coming on from the bench. Need to find room for Easter. Tom or Dan at RB?? Just like Wakefield did? I wouldn't be so sure! Balanta has looked good when he's come on lately. He was the only player not scared of the ball being at his feet yesterday. What more can he do? And if he can't get into the team ahead of Monkhouse, Lockyer or Blissett at the moment then something is wrong because he could do play in any of their positions and do a much better job of it too (that's not knocking Locks, he's not a CM.) Agree Ellis is better coming from the bench, but who do you replace him with? For me certainly not Bliss and unless Easter is fit it has to be hiim starting. Unless you go with Balanta up front maybe. As for RB i'd pick whichever one suits the opposition. Any pace on their wings i'd go with Leads, the weaker teams i'd also go with Leads so we got a more attacking threat on that side. If their wingers aren't full of pace but they are generally solid (maybe Halifax or Macclesfield?) i'd go with Lockyer because I think he is more solid defensively and won't leave us exposed - Danny did a couple of times yesterday after losing the ball I remember.

Halifax is a veg patch of a pitch surely that would suit Blisset far more than Harrison, who likes to run with the ball at his feet?
Personally I'd like to see Balanta replace Monkhouse but I can't see that happening.
Let's just hope this week's new signing is an experienced midfielder not another Wakefield type youngster.

Leadbitter wasn't to blame for the goal, and played is part in Taylor's attempt plus possibly Harrison's, thought it was harsh he was subbed, then Dawson had to go as Lockyer gave him so little support.

Nope, I never said he was! The whole team defended awfully after losing it from our own corner for that second goal to be fair. Don't get me wrong, I really like Leadbitter a lot and further down the line i'd like to see Lockyer moved to centre back alongside Parkes and Danny RB. That's for next season though I feel with McChrystal doing well for the moment. All i'm trying to say is that we have two very good players at this level who can play RB yet they are totally different types of player. And I think we should use that to our advantage by picking which one suits the opposition better. I think in most cases this will be Leadbitter because he can match any pacey winger with his pace and also can link up with Dawson when we need to take the game to teams. There will however be opponents where TL is suited better imo.

Leadbitter certainly wasn't to blame for the second as he'd already been subbed, that one seemed to be down to our left sided CB, Parkes?, losing Midson and leaving him completely unmarked. Although Lockyer got beat completely before the Parkes goal line clearance.

Just saying that our new midfielder will start on Saturday. Assuming we sign on that must surely be odds on anyway after yesterday's performance?

alvestongas, Plenty of players have done nothing or very little and yet get picked. Our central midfield has created nothing for the past few games and all that Balanta needs is a run in the side. You say he has done nothing to demand a place and yet yesterday showed in the short time he was on that he can pick a pass and is capable of moving forward with the ball. This is something Mansell or Lockyer cannot do. Also Monkhouse played very well up front away at Lincoln so if Blissett is not going to be picked why not go with Monkhouse up front. if we do sign a midfield player this week then I would play Dawson Mansell New Player and Balanta. If Easter is fit then i would play him up top with either Blissett or Monkhouse.

I think Mildenhall is more the man we need to look at. He's made a few mistakes now when Puddy did nothing to be dropped in the first place. Puddy did nothing to be dropped. because Puddy did nothing. When he was in the team,I don't remember him having to make a save. Keepers make mistakes and you don't get away with them. Other people have cost us far more points than Mildenhall. He is our number 1 keeper. Not for much longer, come the end of the season he is offski

Who cares, we need to get out of the Conference before worrying about next season's squad, as if we don't go up there will be a mass clear out anyway.
