Thats a great effort. Don't forget that as well as contributing the money to join, you can also help the club just by advertising the 1883 Sponsors club.
When the Milk Marketing Board sponsored the Milk Cup in the early 80's, Geoff Dunford got his Dad to go to a game. God knows what would have happened if Denis didn't get hooked and join the Board and help bring great people like Ron Craig to the club.
The club lost a lot of good staff behind the scenes as part of the review following relegation and the extra workload is just heaped on the remaining staff and volunteers. We can't have people saying it the clubs responsibility as we all have a part to play.
As we all know advertising is not a strong point of the club anyway - the Beard at the Mem v Macclesfield would see hundreds of fans not going the actual game flocking to the Mem, but as far as I know NOTHING has been put on the offical website!).
Everyone of us can help just by mentioning the 1883 Sponsors club to friends , family, neighbours, bosses etc. Just by helping the club promote this scheme YOU could help raise over a grand worth of income for the club, without spending your own money.
If you own a company why not mention it to your contacts? If your car is getting fixed why not mention it to the garage? If one of you son's junior football teammate's Dad is a self employed sparky, what harm can it do to mention it in conversation etc, etc Why not mention it to the landlord of your local? They could raffle off the guaranteed prizes (hospitality meal for 10 and signed football) to try and get some money back if £1000 plus VAT is too much for them.
The networking events for the Sponsors Club could lead to potential new customers for each new business, so they could actually earn big money because of it.
We just need to talk, twitter, email, text, show people a copy of the programme article etc. Its easy and could be worth vital money to the club.
