Winger joins the club until the end of the seasonBristol Rovers have today completed the signing of Abdulai Hindolo Baggie, whose last league club was Tranmere Rovers, until the end of the season. The 22 year old midfielder began his career with Reading but made his league debut for Rotherham United when on loan with them in March 2010. Loan spells at Port Vale and Crawley Town followed before a permanent move to Yeovil Town materialised in August 2011. However he was released by the Glovers in December of that year without making an appearance and joined Hayes & Yeading United in early January 2012. Almost immediately he left to sign for Salisbury City, then managed by Darrell Clarke, and scored once in five games for them before the end of the 2011/12 campaign. In the summer of 2012 he was on the move again, to Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers and from then until his release by them earlier this season he scored four goals in 47 league games. Abdulai has represented England at U-16 and U-17 level and has won four full international caps for Sierra Leone. Darell said of his new signing; “I know Abdulai from his time with Salisbury and he will provide both cover and competition for a place in the squad. “It’s very difficult, with only six games of the season remaining, to bring in a player who has the ability to step straight into the side if selected. “We will be without five players this weekend and it’s imperative that we have cover in the event of any more players missing through injury in the remaining weeks of the season and Abdulai fits that bill.” Chairman Nick Higgs concurred, saying; “Darrell has worked hard to bring in players to strengthen the squad for the last six games of the campaign and Abdulai is someone who is capable of doing that. “I would like to welcome him to the club and wish him every success during his time with us.” The players missing from the squad this Saturday are Neal Trotman and Staurt Sinclair through injury, Ellis Harrison and Jake Gosling, who are on international duty, and Lee Mansell, who is suspended. On a contract until the end of the season after recent release by Tranmere. Worrying that he was released by a team not far above us but he should be eager to earn a contract with us as he is without a club. Still young as well.

Definitely a cover signing. Nothing wrong with that IMO. Has league experience and a point to prove.

Can't say I have ever heard of him but I trust Clarke's recruitment so far. Welcome Abdulai!

Never heard of him but that is not to say that he isn't any good. I fully trust DC and look forward to seeing bell-baggie in action for Rovers

Tranmere fan... Baggie's a bit hit and miss, but a decent player on his day. I'd have kept him over some of the sh**e Adams has brought in on loan. Bit lightweight and can be anonymous at times but he's got a good turn of pace, and should do well for you. Probably our best player, along with Danny Holmes, at the start of the season, but Adams didn't really give him a chance. As for Micky Adams... I'm not entirely sure he knows what day of the week it is.

After all the LDV speculation this signing is kind of like when your date turns up and she looks nothing like she did in the pictures..

Four international caps for Sierra Leone - must have some ability there. Yep, and he outwitted Smaug at the Lonely Mountain and took the ring of power from Gollum.
