Well, the lack of transfer activity is killing me so thought I may as well start it. Who do you want us to sign?!
2 wingers i'd be happy to sign would be Elliot Frear and Keanu Marsh-Brown. Frear provides a lot of assists (including for Matty Taylor in England C), a good engine and a great cross. Pops up with a few goals also. KMB is pure pace, trickery and ... GOALS. A live wire, very passionate about the game but probably a bit rowdy (just assuming).... but I still think he'd be well worth it. Also plays for England C, scored 12+ goals last season from the wing. Along with Hyde he was Barnets stand out player who they must let go due to finances.

FREAR would be a quality signing. Have a feeling hes one we will be going for. I don't know much about the others but although I fancy a bit of flair, you gotta have some solid units in there too at this level.

Not the most clued up on non league hence a prodominantly league 2 overkill. Can anyone reccomend good non league wingers?

It would be nice to have one of the old 'classic' players like we used to get, Old England internationals on the way out but genuine guys. we used to get some real gems.

Noooooooooo not Rooney, a genuine guy is what I would like, as Russgas said, Alan Ball was great, then the likes of Walters, It would be a real treat and such a good thing for the young lads, see how a good pro looks after themselves.

I genuinely thought we'd be bringing in 3 or 4 quality signings (+ 3 or 4 squad players) to have a real go at promotion at the first attempt. Maybe not? White & Taylor are useful additions but neither are the stellar forward signing I was hoping for. It looks as though most of our starting XI will consist of our relegated team.  |

Well our back 4 and GK are good enough. Will we sign a better DM/CB than Lockyer? I doubt it.
We really need 3 attacking MF/wide players. I recon White will be great for us.
I don't see more than 2 players tops coming in before trials and pre season.

So far so good. Where is White in that line up? Or Taylor? Again, I think White will do well. I don't think any of the other players listed are the answer unless Brunt regains form and fitness. Santos, I can't see making an impact and Harrison has already left hasn't he?? So, imo we need 2 wingers and an attacking MF player to make a reasonable 1st 11 capable of a top half/playoff push. I don't get all this negativity about our defense. They played almost all season with f**k all in front of them. They more or less had to defend 80 mins every single game last season because we were so sh**e going forward. And even then we were one of the best defenses in L2. I agree that Parkes looked unfit most of last year, but if DC gets him in shape he'll come good. We need some quality up front. Gow isn't the answer. |
