All indications pointed to certain relegation under jw's stewardship, performances nosedived alarmingly after the first half of the dagenham game with the capitulations at Hartlepool and Fleetwood and the alleged dressing room unrest surfacing at the worst time possible. The Southend game was the convincer for me,no way would we have scored enough goals to stay up playing that kind of sh*** hoofball.Mr Clarke probably went in too heavy handed (Parkes in particular) but without some attempt to get the players by the scruff of the neck verbally and give them a bloody good shaking then all was lost anyway imo. Unfortunately, we had more sh** hoofball under Clarke, or do you not remember that !? There were some improved performances though,Bury, portsmouth, even Mansfield. My general gist though was under Ward we looked incapable of picking up any more points when he was pushed/moved upstairs.
