Roversgate investigation set to drag on11:01am Wednesday 25th June 2014 in Wanderers By Andy Carswell Bucks Free Press: Roversgate investigation set to drag on Roversgate investigation set to drag on WANDERERS will have to continue waiting for a verdict into an investigation they allegedly broke third party ownership rules. The FA and Football League are both currently investigating claims from Bristol Rovers that Wanderers breached regulations relating to third party ownership in the fall-out to Matt Phillips' 2010 transfer to Blackpool. Both clubs had hoped for a swift resolution to the investigation but no announcement is likely to be made any time soon. The Football League told the Bucks Free Press this week there is "no further news on this at this point in time". Wanderers had admitted to breaching regulations relating to agent involvement over Phillips' move and were fined £10,000. But Rovers pushed for a points deduction, which would have kept the Gas in the Football League at Blues' expense, after claiming Wanderers continued to flout the rules. That punishment now seems unlikely after the fixtures for the new League Two season were confirmed last week. www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/11299259._/

Feeling that Wycombe are no longer so bullish - perhaps expecting a punishment.

Indeed. The fact that it's taking so long hopefully means there is a case to answer. I don't expect to he reinstated, just a big enough fine to put that shithole club in the mire.

Exactly that, and they seem to know it,s going to bite them on the bum. Very different to the way they started all this.

Woodward's reassurance as Rovers investigation rumbles on4:05pm Wednesday 25th June 2014 in Wanderers By Andy Carswell Bucks Free Press: Don Woodward BLUES chairman Don Woodward said he's not been given a timeframe by the football authorities as to when a verdict in their dispute with Bristol Rovers is likely to be made. Claims from the Pirates that Wanderers breached third party ownership regulations during the transfer of Matt Phillips to Blackpool in 2010 are currently being investigated by the FA and the Football League. The investigation has been going on for a month with a resolution seemingly some way from being made. Woodward said he appreciated the lack of news is frustrating to supporters but said it's a necessity if the process to be concluded smoothly. And he reassured fans that he's still confident there's nothing to be worried about. Woodward said: "There was a haste at the beginning but the reality was there wasn't going to be anything that would have an effect on the leagues. "They have to be considered in all the things they do. They have asked us lots of questions, we've answered them all and they haven't rushed to ask us any more. "I haven't been pushing them to hurry and resolve it. I don't want to publicly pressure the FA, I'd rather they did their job. "It's difficult to be frustrated if you want the authorities to do their job correctly. We have to respect the way they do things." www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/11300273._/

If I was in Woodward's position I would be portraying the same public message - the reality is that the bloke will be fully aware of every loophole that they are vulnerable to. I do not think that Woodward is sleeping well at night!
