Still no League 1 club for him then.
I think Northampton will have a decent season this time around. Interesting to see how JJOT does though as in terms of goal scoring, I think the season he just had with us was a bit of a one off.

And let's be honest, if it weren't for his goals last season, he'd have offered very, VERY little (one assist all season?). His positional discipline when played as a proper CM was also quite poor. He was the sort of player you had to make adjustments for to fit into the side.

Cobblers.

I really don't care. I think we've got better midfielders than him at the club now. Yes, John-Joe scored crucial goals for us, but as a midfielder he did very little. Like it has been said above he got one assist all season and underperformed considering his contributions as a battling, tackling midfielder in his first season. I won't miss him, by any means.

Northampton fans don't know what they have let themselves in for. Just hope last season isn't the kick up the arse that O'Toole needed.

The problem isn't/wasn't O Toole. It was us. Why can't people see this? So quick to slam managers and players year upon year who come from and go on to better things. BRFC is the common D. FFS wake up.(stand fast brisa/campaign groups)

I'm not saying the BoD are faultless; far from it. But for someone who defended John Ward to the hilt month after month after month, when it was obvious to so many of us he was well out of his depth, to say "why can't people see this" is laughable.

Ok it was all JWs fault then. Lol We should have brought someone else in, in October? Your answer is? Precious messiah? Not really as I was consistent with the last few managers, back to PT. I think the merry go round has got us where we are actually.

It seems that way. Who knows if saints have sold him the same story that Wardy did last season? Big money, clause, January option etc etc.

The problem (as I see it, and as I said since January) with JJOT in our side last season is that we had to weaken the rest of the team to accommodate him, either tactically or personnel-wise in certain matches. In certain games we should have dropped him and played a 'solid' 442, in some games he would have been great as an impact sub, and in others he should have started in a 3-man midfield and bossed the game. I don't blame him for his mind wandering towards the end of the season. We were never set up to get the best out of him, and too often set up worse just to fit him in.

These days though 442 is rarely solid as if any team that can play any sort of football they get on behind easily from having an extra man in midfield. I just think that despite his goals he wasn't the JJ from 12/13.
