Puddy 4. Not tall enough or good enough. Dithered when they scored.Kicking very poor, but did catch a few balls
Lockyer 8. Bit worried when he let their bloke run too far for their goal, but after that was very good. McCrystal8. Few dodgy moments early doors, but once he settled he was awesome. Parkes 7 .Same as the skipper but not quite so good. Brown 7. Not so much an attacking threat yesterday, but defended well enough.
Gosling 6. Not his day, a few good runs culminating in not very much. Mansell 8. Close to my M.O.M. The only player that I would have wanted to take that penalty. Lines 9. He stood out once again absolute class. Monkhouse 7. Not at his best yesterday, but did his job.
Harrison 8. Always likely to score when he plays, great finish for his goal. Taylor 4. Not going to say a thing, other than poor.
Balanta 5. Didn't do much Blissett 5 Ditto Mildenhall. Not really on for long was he?
Clarke, Yates and Stewy. 8.

Puddy 5 lucky to be on the pitch after stupid handball, did not fill me with confidence Lockyer 6.5 tackled and covered well bot oh his distribution Parkes 7.5 Got stronger and more assured as game went on McCrystal 7.5 as Parkes Brown 7.5 Good defensively didnt get forward as he would have liked but great penalty Gosling 5 anonymous for most of possibly his last game for club Lines 8.5 looked a class above anyone else on the pitch Mansell 7.5 Usual performance but held his nerve for winning penalty Monkhouse 7 Not as influential as of late but never stopped working for the cause Taylor 6 when is he going to learn to take advantage of 1 on 1 situations, not sure if he will survive in lg2 Harrison 7.5 looked our most likely goal scorer and took his chance well Blissett 5 not sure what he brings to the party Balanta 5 didnt see him until he scored penalty Mildenhall dont know what to score but his physical presence put Pitman off and got his hands to 2 other penalties Clarke 9 team selection spot on but could have woundbn the side up a bit more pre match to stop the slow start.touch of genius to bring on Mildenha..
Ref 5 down to typical level of conference officials
As an aside
Disley 8 clever influential game keeping Grimsby on the front foot

Puddy - 6 poor start then did well Lockyer - 9 calm and looked very fit at the end McChrystal - 8 commanding Parkes - 7 some poor moments but the defence held firm Brown - more mistakes than usual and not the same attacking threat Gosling - 6 Mansell - 7 gave it all Lines -7 had the class but not at his best Monkhouse - 7 Taylor - 6 Harrison -6 Subs: Balanta -5 Blissett - 5 Mildenhall - 6 DC - 8 Ref - 7 Grimsby - 8 very unlucky Score for Lee Brown?

We were at the game and then watched it again at home and have to say you do see it differently. Overall team performance was 10 out of 10 for guts and determination but only maybe a 5 for quality, especially after some of our recent games. Overall an 8, the occasion and pressure should not be underestimated.
Puddy 4 - occasion completely overwhelmed him to start with and he spooked the back 4. Settled down but lucky to be on the pitch Lockyer 9 - it's hard to believe he has played 100 games but is still the youngest player on the pitch. Showed why Darrell trusts him so much. After a dodgy start (all the back four shared this) he rose to the occasion rather than being overwhelmed by it McChrystal 8 - does what Macca does. And did it very effectively yesterday Parkes 8 - back to basics performance yesterday, not much chance to maraud forward. Extra 1 for the clearance off the line Brown 6 - had his worst 45 of the season in the first half but steadier as the game went on.
Gosling 5 - flashes but struggled against a stronger defence Mansell 8 - has the legs of a 20 year old, worked like a Trojan doing his and half of Lines share of the running in the midfield. Worthy scorer of the winning penalty. Lines 7 - 9 on the ball, 5 off of it. Needs a runner next to him. Watch their goal and see how he lets his man run away from him while Mansell busts a gut to get back. That sums it up for me. Monkhouse 6 - very quiet, for once our left hand side struggled. Taylor 7 - loads of effort but well marshalled for the best part by their defence Harrison 8- an extra 1 for the goal, pick of the two up front on this occasion.
Subs: Balanta 5 did his job, nothing more but a good penalty Blissett 6 - still not convinced by him Mildenhall na
DC - 9, it's a results business - can't argue with the result Ref 5 - weak and thank God he was because I expected Puddy to go Grimsby 8 - easily the best team we have played recently. Looked more threatening than us for good parts. One dodgy penalty was the only difference

Puddy 4 Got better as game progressed, but I think the back four are not to sure of him
Lockyer 7.5 Very good game McChrystal 7 Solid as usual Parkes 6.5 As above Brown 6 Steady game but Grimsby had the measure of him going forward
Gosling 3 I am afraid he was rubbish Mansell 5.5 Done his usual dirty yo work but gave possession away to often Lines 5.5 Done ok Monkhouse 5 Not one of his better games also gave possession away to easily, as Brown Grimsby had the measure of them
Taylor 5 As usual tried hard but rarely won or held the ball alway went straight back to Grimsby Harrison 5.5 Again tried hard took goal well but never held the ball to often
Subs: Balanta 3 same as Gosling rubbish Blissett 4 Can't remember him doing to much Mildenhall
DC 10 Have always said back him now sign him Made some crucial decisions without panicking Ref 4 Very weak, usual Conferance standard Grimsby 6 Marginally better than Rovers, both teams on the day were way below their normal standards perhaps the occasion got to them Crowd, Rovers 6 Grimsby 8

Puffy. 4: The occasion seemed to overawe him and he was lucky not to be sent off. I didn't feel confident in his keeping ability. He seemed very nervous.
Lockyer. 7: Good solid performance. Lots of energy. Kept his head in the game.
McChrystal. 7: Again solid performance. Though for me he's not someone you notice on the pitch, but you notice when he's not on it. Parkes. 7: Again lots of energy and focus. Worked hard.
Brown. 5: Seemed quite nervous and struggled a little because of it. He let the occasion take some of his focus. Gosling. 4: Had some impressive moments but I don't think he's a high enough standard for us anymore. He struggled and was missing from most of the game.
Mansell. 7: Did everything we expected from him. Kept the energy going and worked hard.
Lines. 8: He performs at a different level to other players and his experience showed.
Monkhouse. 5: The magic between him and Brown didn't seem to click and at times he felt redundant.
Taylor. 8: At times I felt the referee was siding against him. He tried to make a difference but allowed the ball to be stolen too easily. Battled on with his eye and was a credible threat at times.
Harrison. 8.5: I'm a big fan of Ellis, for such a young and relatively inexperienced player he took Wembley hard and worked hard with the chances he got. Beautiful goal from him. He seemed to struggled more in the second half because of cramping. He looked heartbroken when he was subbed.
Balanta. 3: Didnt really bring anything except a penalty.
Blissett. 2: Didn't really notice him. Nothing special for me I'm afraid. What balls he did win he lost again almost immediately.
DC. 9: Good choices, right result. Although I would have liked to see him play Leadbitter for some of the match.
Ref. 5: Some shocking decisions for both sides. Luckily for us or Puddy would be gone.
Grimsby. 7: Some real attacking threat, defence was not quite as credible. Their fans were so vocal though, and kept the teams energy up throughout.

Final results have been calculated for the last, but best supported (20 replies), ratings thread of the season.
Tom Lockyer was your Man of the Match with the most number of votes and the highest rating. This was his highest rating of the season as he raised his game at Wembley to win his first MotM award.
There's not much more to say for this game, but thanks to those that gave their ratings. I hope to update the Season Ratings thread tomorrow.
Puddy 5.3
Lockyer 7.9 MotM McChrystal 7.8 Parkes 7.3 Brown 5.9
Gosling 4.8 Mansell 6.9 Lines 7.2 Monkhouse 6.3
Taylor 6.0 Harrison 7.1
Subs: Balanta 5.0 Blissett 5.2 Mildenhall 6.0, but I'm not going to count this in the season averages
DC 8.9 Ref 5.4 Grimsby 7.6
Player Rating Threads will return...
