We could be paired with the 130 British Soldiers at Yorkes Drift who despite the odds stood their ground and fought off 1000's of Zulu's. Like them we were given Great Respect from the Better Numbers...... One of my favorite films that 73. But i think it was Rorkes drift.

The blackthorn twins The Wycombe pitch invasion... Why the embarrassment over uber exuberant fans going a bit ott? Or is it an embarrassment now but not at the time? Only in retrospect, I was bloody loving it at the time

P.S s*** football and three relegations have not helped I admit but I remember when we stared adversity in the face, laughed and then fought to the last man Thing is Mart, you take away the factions, like GHS & old Tote end boys ( young executives) and you will ALWAYS take something away. Many forget the basic and tribal reasons we feel loyal to our local club. You look at it as I do, a loyal club and following. Truth is our club, along with others, don't want those types now. I know hundreds ( no joke) that no longer go. I'm afraid that mine and your memories are just that. If you want to know what embarrasses me then it's this bloody club. We should NEVER, EVER be in the conference. The whole bloody club should hang their heads in shame. Rant over

The only thing that is not embarrassing is the supporters, everyone employed by BRFC owes all us fans one big apology for the embarassment that was last season!

What embarresses me, and what has brought me here from the other forum. (Thanks Ras) is the appaling negative attitude of many of our fans. It really gets me down. No one likes where we are or why, but really? Slagging off any new signing because he's not Messi, and slagging off anyone who disagrees? Boy, how far have we fallen? Disgrace.

You are right beaver123, the other forum is a bit hard to take sometimes, seems to me half of them can find nothing to like about BRFC. Makes you wonder why they bother!

It's still our club.
We still love it.
You can only flog it to death so much.
Someone has to do something positive, and once again it's fans leading the positive way forward.
If you keep beating the BoD they will just build bigger walls. We need to build bridges, not walls.

If we understand eachother better, it is easier to avoid getting upset like this. Hardly a disgrace for supporters to be anti right now. Just do what you do and others will do what they want. If supporters could influence the teams results, we would be doing alright. Nobody wants us to be crap and people deal with that in different ways. Your last bit? Is that supposed to be some kind of joke beaver???

[br Snap - the obsessive negativity by some on here re all things Bristol Rovers and especially those that make out they know oh so much about what had happened or is going to happen - laughable cringeworthy and embarrassing. I agree with KP what we miss most is the togetherness of the fans even if it was tribal... We fought like our team .. Always the underdog but it instilled pride and passion... If you think about it regardless of our current situation it mirrors the adversity we have previously suffered in many ways ... The fires / Having to leave Eastville for Ashton and then Twerton .., a tip of a ground and training out of a portacabin at Frys .. Nearly going out of existence ...But we survived and why, because the fans and the club united to fight the world through dignity and pride with a rag bag team of nobodies of which some came from the non league which had a far bigger gulf to division 4 than the Conference does now to L2. There are so many parallels now to those days but the fans are not united as then. And what saddens me most is I suspect a lot of the most negative posters on here are actually from those eras. Come on guys .., we go again after all there were many splits in the board in those days aswell but we still rode the storm and got on with what we did best .., support the club with passion and fevor...I so remember the derbies at Twerton .. View them again on YouTube guys ... See what you created in adversity and come on lets go again... After all I t isn't hard As we are actually bloody good at it - let's never ever forget our roots !!!

I understand why, just not for everything without giving anything a chance.....

I am amazed no-one has written that we are now in the NON -League - this embarrasses me so so much ! and my 7 year old must be too as he now says Rovers are rubbish all the time. Supporters are still great on the whole - still have strong, proud memories of great support in recent seasons - when we were home to Bournemouth in L1 relegation season and we got a great backs-to -the wall win on a tuesday night and the crowd were magic and to top that on leaving the stadium I could hear Irene being sung in the streets around the ground - locals probably thought we had had a very big cup win or we were on the verge of going up BUT no we had just (as it turned out temporarily) moved out of the relegation positions. That's how brilliant we can be !!

...We used to have such inventive fans who made shirts, jumpers, fanzines and great songs... sign o' the times as the little Prince once said but what is stopping people doing this again? Ok, so some of society is too busy living lives virtually to lead lives actually, but there is also a huge rise in creativity in many ways; art, graffiti, knitting, tattooing, DIY culture, even loom bands! You can make a really decent music album in your bedroom today, take really decent photos on your phone, and publish your own writing/blog. All creative. DIY is the most important issue. Don;t wait for others to do it. Do It Yourself. oh, and bring back breakdancing

When we came back to Bristol we were told it would all be rosy and the dark days are over. Now it's worse than then and the club have sucked the life out of most. Then there's fans like myself that have been watching from the late 90s/early 00s and all we have witnessed, bar one exception, is utter sh**e. The fact we still go at all is impressive. I really hope my ahem, excitement returns when pre season arrives because right now I have very little interest in next season.
