This has totally destroyed any thoughts of me being in love with the club. All I have is memories right now. I am ashamed to say I cannot think of anything

I know where you're coming from, but on the OF your thoughts always seemed balanced and well thought out. Cutting where they needed to be, and encouraging elsewhere. It seems that a malaise has descended on the majority of posters (certainly on the Gasheads.org forum). I get why, I really do. I've supported this club from a boy in 1969 / 70 through my forced exile as a nine year old to Sussex, and season ticket holder in London and Southampton, to another forced excile with wife and kid who don't get football or the Gas back in Sussex. They couldn't get ther head around why i was so grumpy every Saturday. But, I know the board are still a-holes but we are still the Gas, and we will eventually play with some spirit, like Twerton in the late 80-90's. things are poo, no one likes it, but the club still exists. Hereford and Salisbury would love to be us. I have no crystal ball, but lets just see how things go, and change what we can. Unless we win the euro millions and invest everything we cant do anything about the way things are, not yet. Eventually pressure may tell on the board, but be careful what you wish for. Just ask Salisbury. Come on, have a go where its warrented, but lets at least give the team a chance to suceed

I know our league season doesn't start for another month but it seems the only topics on Rovers forums these days revolve around everything the club are doing wrong. I've supported the team home & away for 30+ years and this is obviously the lowest point in our history but the constant negativity is rather tiresome. Whatever you think of the board lets not write our team off before they've kicked a ball. We're likely to have as many as 10 new signings by the time our first game comes around and noone knows at this stage how they'll perform.

No need for any pressure coming from you as one of the 6000 family ?

They couldn't get ther head around why i was so grumpy every Saturday. But, I know the board are still a-holes but we are still the Gas, and we will eventually play with some spirit, like Twerton in the late 80-90's. things are poo, no one likes it, but the club still exists. The old club forum came upon me when I was in the darkest of places regards my personal life. I had just had my Dad die and I was going through the same thing with my Mother. I have always said that I view Rovers and our fans as my family but family I chose. I can't tell you how much it helped me when I first joined up. I found myself around like minded fans and I was very supportive of the club, board and tried to give some perspective where possible. I then found it harder and harder to defend what was going on and also the football became totally dull and I found myself going to games more for the company of old friends rather than watching the games. The writing was on the wall for a long time given hindsight. I wish I could find some real positives, something genuinely palpable that could keep my spirits up but we have what seems to be a news blackout by the club and the signs are ominous. Oddly enough, I said I would not go to any home games this season but I met up with Chris ( Capt Birdseye) at Mangotsfield, yesterday and there were maybe 15 of us Rovers supporters sat together. I found myself becoming enthused again just in having the company of my fellow supporters and in the gallows humour. I found myself really enjoying the time I spent with them and I am now rethinking my decision about going. It just breaks my heart to be where we are. None of us is getting younger & I can't help but think where the next generation of Rovers fans will come from ? It's true what they say, once a Rovers fan, always a Rovets fan. It's a bloody affliction. I just hope we can have some success and some entertaining football but I would take the points however they come. I think the club is closer to trouble than they admit and I can't see us surviving, as we are, if we have more than 2 seasons in this league. Anyway, the TV people are here now so I hope I do you guys proud. Wish me luck guys. All for one and one for all !! UTG

The fans. People that make this great club of ours exactly that; people like JTS especially, but every other one of us that follows the blue boys as well.
UTG!

Kp good luck. It will get better, at least I really hope so. I'm under no illusions, I don't think we can survive more than two seasons in this league, tops. Utg
