Hi fellow Rovers fans,
I have been chosen by BBC points West to be filmed to get my reaction to the conference fixtures today. I am not bothered by a camera or interview but I know very little about our opposition so if you guys can give me a quick précis of the teams to look out for then I would be very grateful as I don't want to let our club & fans down.
I guess I will have till around 2.30 to do a quick study

Constable and Midson signed for Eastleigh amongst others. They are going to be massive contenders this year. Otherwise, its us with the best shot at it. Certainly with our solid defence from last season we should be able to handle them. Just have to see whether our shiny new strike force plus brunty can do the magic at the other end.
ps mention gaschat on air for a free BJ from Hugo and RD. X

Ok, Bear you say eh ? Maybe I can alude to it if they ask what can be expected from our fans  So far, Eastleigh spending big so will be there or thereabouts,FGR always going to be a rival as they have a decent backer with a solid foundation. Teams such as Wrexham, Grimsby and others were long time members of the football league so we will be playing many familiar sides so should not take it lightly. I would like to know which away games will be the ones to look out for please. I know Turkey will always be a day out but I guess FGR again, Braintree and Gateshead will be well attended just because of where they are. I have not got a Rovers shirt but I do have our training tops and pools. Any advice will be gratefully accepted good people. I cannot understand for one minute why they chose me lol. |

The reality is that we may not know of some of the teams in this league but if you had had this conversation about 10 years ago the fixture list would have included : AFC Wimbledon, Stevenage, Crawley, Dagenham and Redbridge, Cambridge United, Cheltenham Town, York City , Burton Albion, Wycombe, Newport, Morecambe -without mentioning Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley who were in lower leagues . The point is that just because we have not heard of them doesnt meanm to say that they are not teams who should be respected.

There are no gimmes in this league. We have to work very hard to earn every point regardless of who we are playing.
