^Yes, that's what I'd like to see, Linesy will have to pick his moments and maybe concentrate on defence splitting passes rather than runs. Let's get em!

I'm not very good at second-guessing, but I have a feeling DC may go for this:
Mildenhall
Leadbitter Lockyer Parkes Brown
Sinclair Mansell Lines Montaño
Harrison Taylor
If Mansell isn't fit then I think he'll put Sinclair in the middle and Gosling on the right. I think he'll be very loathe to drop Lockyer and to be honest, I kind of agree as he is solid wherever he plays and has so much potential to improve further. It is possible he may play him instead of Leadbitter and then James Clarke would play at centre back. Personally, I would start with Easter up front, but I think that Clarke might see it that Harrison and Taylor were our successful strike force at the end of last season and so deserve to start this season as the strike pair. We have quite a few plausible options.

Assuming Easter is fully fit I'd personally go with his league experience over the other 3 strikers.

If everyone was fit, then for me it would be;
Mildenhall
Leadbitter J Clarke Parked Brown
Monakana Lines Mansell Montano
Easter Harrison
Subs: Puddy, Lockyer, Sinclair, Gosling, Bodin, Taylor and Blissett
Bit harsh on Macca but Lockyer offers cover to the whole back four and I'd rather have attack minded players there to come on.
Still not convinced O. Clarke will be able to make the step up, but I hope he proves me wrong.

I don't think that we have anybody really effective in the right midfield role, though, and I think he's unlikely to go with two out and out wingers. I think it's possible he may go with either Sincs or Bodin, or even Lockyer, in right midfield with Leadbitter given license to overlap.

Getting exiting now.Chap who runs a sweet stall at Crewe Market is a big Tranmere fan.Reckons Stevie Yates was their best ever player.Looking forward to their first Vanarama match Sat V Woking and claims ,'We'll be the Man United of the Conference'. Also tells me they have re -furbed the executive boxes in preparation for the new season and made other ground improvements. What a thought that would be slipping into the Conference.Doesn't bear thinking about!!!! Also said,'We're playing Woking or Bromley or someone first match, teams we've never heard of'.

I can't pick a team. I don't have a clue what the Count of Monte Christo will be like, or the other new players. Just looking forward to seeing them. Hope the Bearded Wonder is back to his best.

Ta. I did get there in the end, but in my defence, I even went to the OS and he's not listed in the squad yet, as far as I can see.

If everybody was fit I certainly wouldn't drop McChrystal for an untried Conference player when the former was outstainding alongside Parkes towards the end of last season, I'd also start Puddy over Mildenhall, however I don't expect either to be fit for Saturday. I can see DC will want to keep it tight at the back so if Clark or Leadbitter start I can see Lockyer playing in the other role ioe RB or CB. I also can't DC starting with two very attacking wingers so Monakana will have to be content with a place on the bench, DC's also said in the past he likes to keep loan players waiting a game or two.

Fair comment on Macca, I like him and he was solid last year but his lack of pace worried me in the league two seasons ago so I can see him struggling against better forwards this time around. Although in a honesty, I'd be happy with any of the three partnering Parkes at the back. Leadbitter has the potential to play much higher imo, and until he gets a good run of games he's never going to improve on his positional sense. Lockyer will never be a natural full back so I'm hoping Clarke sticks with Leads as he gives us that extra attacking edge down the right. And your probably right about DC liking balance on the wings but for me, I'd rather let the opposition worry about us for a change and have two wingers cause them problems. All my opinion of course and I'm sure DC will make the right call come Saturday!

How many games does Lockyer need to play to get some recognition? Why will he never be a natural fullback? We don't need Leadbitter to attack down the right if there is a winger in front of him. Likewise LB can do some defending this season rather than blowing out his ar5e getting back after doing monkeys job. Wingers is what most have been asking for the last few years, now we have them.

Lockyer will never be a good fullback as he lacks pace can barely pass a ball more than 5 metres and has no attacking intent. Even when he plays on the right he has a tendency to drift in to the centre which alot of teams exploited last season. But Lockyer is very good defensively so i definetly don't mind him playing in the centre with parkes
