Just got back from the game. Hands down one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen at the Mem. Should have given us a penalty at the end, and shouldn't have given Clarke a straight red. Few Oxford players picked up yellows for non-incidents. Suspect that the (probably deserved) abuse got to him.

How can the ref send off Clark but book Oxford's player for identical challenges, then miss a stone wall pen right in front of him?
Having said that the lack of chances we created is a concern, not helped by Easter adding so little upfront.

Robbed!
Haven't seen a replay of the sending off but it looked extremely harsh. Don't even think Oxford were looking for a red. The ref didn't give himself time to think about it and pulled out a red almost before the player hit the floor. Not even sure it deserved a yellow.
We still had the better of the game despite being a man down, More possession (54/46), twice as many shots (14/7) and more than double the corners (10/4). Chapman didn't have a save to make.
The penalty decision near the end summed up the ref's afternoon. You wont see a more blatant penalty this season.
On the plus side it was a great effort from the lads, especially as we played nearly the entire match with 10 men and if we continue to play like that I think we'll be there or there abouts come May.

Oh, the crowd was ok today! Quite noisy throughout the first half(I was in south stand). Oxford were terrible but obviously found some voice when they scored. I think the ref inspired most of our atmosphere and we need to try and avoid GI being sung 20 times per match.

Topper he got Ollie's red wrong and I don't see how he can send theirs off (which was more abvious) and get it wrong a 2nd time! With the penalty he clearly said on tv that their guy touched the ball but he was a mile away from touching it.

None of them were deemed to be bookable. One of them handballed and then kicked the ball away. He never even got spoken to. The ref was a disgrace to his profession.

Not that it helps us much but when the ref watches that back (especially the bit where you visibly see him say "he got the ball") he's gonna be cringing massively as to how bad a decision that was!

Confused how Ollie Clarke got sent off for jumping with his elbow but when their ginger striker Taylor did the same thing he got a yellow. I really don't understand that???
Stone wall pen too

That referee should be struck off. Not even fit to referee at school boy level.

Absolute disgrace that we have lost that! Games like this are what make you sick, we were by far the better team, had 2 stone wall penalties turned down, down to 10 men for 75 mins with a disgustingly bad feferee and we get beat by a worldy strike! Bollocks! Haha this post did amuse me,exactly how I felt 4 hours ago!A few sherberts works wonders though.
