In the spirit of the thread, not necessarily based on ability but just 'because' I would say the likes of dick Shepherd, warboys, bannister, prince, vaughan jones, ollie, Boris, Carl Saunders (legend) Yates, stevens, twentyman, penrice, martyn, Randall, Devon, stewie, Harold, jarman, Walters, oh, sod it, nearly all of them, but not the five or so years before relegation!

Also i seem to remember a midfielder we had called ian wright? I was about 7 or 8 maybe so i thought it was immense that he had the same name as the ian wright. Signed from Stoke City. He was a Canadian international. He was a centre half though I think, signed around 95ish.

I've chosen my favourites in a team line up. G.K. Martin Thomas R.B. David Pritchard C.B. Steve Yates C.B. Andy Tillson. L.B. Lyndsay Parsons R.M. Kenny Stephens C.M. Jamie Shore C.M. Wayne Jones L.M. Mickey Barrett. Striker. Rickie Lambert Striker. Marcus Stewart Have you memory loss T boner, the same Pritchard who refused to train because he wanted to move to the 82 ers, and went down there in their directors box for one of their matches and then they got cold feet, unbelievable! My memory is fading. I am getting on a bit, as you know. I will replace that toe-rag with Phil Roberts.

Mark Walters for me. Even at his age he was unstoppable down the wing. A pleasure to watch. That team that Ollie built might have cost a few quid, but it was the best football I'd seen while watching Rovers. Oh and its Wally Walters for me too. Remember that game at The Mem when he & Roberts ripped The S hit to shreads!? Pure class. This one? Any excuse to see that video again!

From a relative oldie interesting to see the various posts and teams selected. My only comment would be for those who never saw Harold Jarman racing down the wing and beating players at will. You missed a treat and if you would have had the pleasure to see him at his best he would be in all your teams. Pity he is long retired as we would not be talking about the Montanas,Monokanas,Dawsons,Della Verdes and Hensons and our lack of somebody to get to the byline and lay on gilt edged chances for others. The Harold Harold chants from his greatist fan club in the North Enclosure will live long in the memory for me. Harold! Harold! UTG! Wasn't that Matty Harrold? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

He was a Canadian international. He was a centre half though I think, signed around 95ish. Why did we sign him if he's 95 was he not a bit past it?

I hate Wayne Andrews too! He was so useless during his time with us and a disgusting scoring record.

Ian Alexander purely for whenever we played the 82ers he had Gavin in his pocket or got sent off. David Pritchard for his tackling. Brian Parkin because he was class. Wally Walters for his skill. Steve Elliott coz he loves the gas. Devon White for his ability to physically hurt defenders.(Spreading Mick Mccarthy's nose across his face vs Millwall springs to mind) Gary Stanley for his enthusiasm (strange)

i thought harold was good but a bit of a fairy to be honest, which i why i went for kenny stephens,, Sorry didn't make myself clear, I was referring to the great Harold Jarman for the left wing, not the ginger version !! harold jarman was a fine player for the club with a tremendous shot and an eye for goal but he didnt like dirty full backs and i think thats why he didnt play at a higher standard,,

Barry Hayles and Frankie Bennett probably my all time favourites.
Ellington and Curreton not far behind.
Tom Ramasut is another player I remember fondly mainly due to one absolute screamer he scored at the mem.

Favourites for me in the time I've been going would have to be, in no particular order.
Nigel Martyn Neil Slatter David Williams Archie Stephens Mickey Barrett Paul Randall Vaughan Jones Andy Tilson Paul Nixon Rickie Lambert Stewy Yatesy Vitas Jason Roberts Devon White
And quite a few others I can't remember I'm sure. Can anyone remember a Dutch striker we had years ago, either Eastville or early Twerton days, big tall bloke.
