Just to throw another point into who this consortium is,they are allegedly Birmingham based, any one any ideas of which ex director is based in Birmingham? No, Nick said they turned down a bid from a Birmingham based consortium at Xmas. Factually accurate I'm sure. A clever bit of spin by Higgs or the Bristol City Evening Post because everyone assumes that is what we are talking about now without confirming or denying the existence of a second consortium from say London making a fresh bid. Please let it be Karren Brady, please let it be Karren Brady.

I will tell you this if he is involved in any way the deal is dead,he has already been rebuffed this year What if he's come back with a better offer padstow? Do you think NH would still not entertain it because of the history?

She's my type n'all. WARM! Notice breathing is not part of my strict selection criteria. Cue Nobby! Who usually doesn't post around this time of day as he thinks fellow formers will think he has some kind of life. We know Nobby, we know, your marriage is a sham!

Bags my old mate if nothing else at least we increased the post count on this thread. What is the longest thread in gaschat history mods? Just out of curiosity killed the cat.

I think there is something going on,you know the saying about smoke and fire, but I feel it is in its infancy and a long way from talks/offers being made.I think both sides are posing at present and nothing will be known for months to come and definitely not at the sc agm Similar to what I heard today, no news expected before the new year. However, to really throw the cat amongst the pigeons the Birmingham consortium is actually just 1 of 3 interested parties! This from an ITK source but I personally have no idea of its truth. Interesting times ahead. So after the Court Case? Interesting.

Problem is when will the court case finally come to a conclusion, we won't get the Court of Appeal decision until next year then if it goes in the club's favour there must be a reasonable chance Sainsbury's will appeal and that will take another year or more? If the consortium are willing to build the UWE now why doesn't NH come to some agreement based on if he losses, or if he wins the case, surely it can't be that difficult? Better still why doesn't he just do a deal with Sainsbury's now and sell up?

Better still why doesn't he just do a deal with Sainsbury's now and sell up? And the benefit to the club is? The stadium will already cost more than the Sainsburys money, then the debts of £9-10m have to be repaid. The debt is increasing by £30k per month just on the Wonga loan. So you have settled for the lower spec stadium with it's reduced income streams etc etc. not to mention nothing to spend on the team. The only hope of amounting to anything in the near future is to go with the consortium. Keep the faith UTG.

Not sure if you've misread/misunderstood my post but I was suggesting NH does a deal with Sainsbury's, assuming they are still interested in doing a deal whilst the Appeal is ongoing, take whatever they offer, even if it is only £1m, sell up and then move on with his life leaving the consortium to build the UWE. As does somebody of his age really want all this stress for another couple of years when he's already clearly a very wealthy individual.

I stand corrected in that case Topper.
Newmarket, I said if we want to amount to anything as well. I'm not settling for lifelong lower league football when we have this chance to do so much better.
