Are things really as bad as people are making out if Easters shot had hit the inside of the post right now we would talking about how well we have played against 2 fancied teams I know it evens up but we have also had some crucial decisions go against us ie soft penalties ,wrongly sent off player , a opposition goal keeper not sent off We have just come up from the conference and need time to find our feet in a tough league Our defence is up there with the best in the league We need a bit of pace in the team Stick by DC and like last season the luck will turn and I trust him even with a tight budget to deliver UTG
Onwards and upwards UTG

Apart from the first 10 mins of the second half we were utter sh**e as an attacking force.
Harrison looked fed up. (can't blame him)
Easter looked well off the pace. (yes I know he scored)
Taylor may as well have not come on.

I've not seen too many rash, OTT posts calling for major changes. I think everybody appreciates that we've had a tough start and everybody can see exactly the areas that need improving. Problem is, do we have the funds/willing chairman to improve our squad?

If the board/chairman can sense even the possiblility of a takeover they ain't going to be willing to put another penny out of their own pockets into the club if there is no guarantee of them getting it back!

Still relatively positive tho, hopefully a few of the poorer teams below us stay sh1t! Looking forward to playing the teams around us.

Our defence is up there with the best in the league? We've lost 5 games!

But virtually the same defence didn't stop us getting relegated last time? What's a major worry is the fact we don't have a JJOT type player who can knock in 15 goals from midfield this season.
What I can't understand is why DC isn't bringing loan players in last season we had Martin, LDV & Dawson just on the left wing this season it's just the Brighton winger.

Our defence is up there with the best in the league? We've lost 5 games! And with the KIt Man coaching the defence part time.

On reflection I think the OP is right we really needed a bit of luck saturday to put Pompey on the back foot early on. I think as the game went on they were able to impose theirselfs on the game. Getting back into the game early in the second looked as though it might have turned the game, but their second was a killer and we never recovered. Portsmouth are a very good side full of confidence we will play worst and win games

I'm not worried about us this season at all. From what I've seen we've not been far away in the majority of games we've lost and the performances will turn into results eventually.
We were excellent after the Northampton game and I'm DC can get us back to playing to our best.
Easter has been getting better each game to my eye and if he can start scoring regularly we will be right up there.

I think we had a bit of luck with Easter's "goal" bearing in mind it hit the goalie on the line before going in, I also felt Brown was lucky not to conceded a pen given he had his arms all over the Pompey FB before he fell/dived. The Pompey striker also missed an open goal I think even MT couldn't miss.

It is every bit as bad a it seems DC said we were going to be competitive this season and we clearly are not. yeah, dropped points against six teams currently in the top eight, but picked up nine points from nine against the three teams we've played in the bottom half...we're competitive, how much more competitive you want us to be? And how would you get us there?

I don't think we'll get kicked out again. My guess is a mid-table finish, no lower than 15th. I also think our defence is normally pretty good.
However, both goals conceded on Saturday were bad. Unchallenged forwards popping in crosses twice in a game is poor. I hope they have had a serious talk about it and decided what went wrong and why.
I also think we should try fewer of the very long-range passes, which invariably lose possession or come to nothing.

However in reply to your question I think at home we should take the game to the opposition that clearly did not happen saturday. I want teams to fear coming to the mem. How would I get us there? F**ked if I know I'm just a supporter. Anyway great win tonight so onwards and upwards.
