Personally i think some people had a chat about buying, found out what it would cost in loan repayments and wanted the board to take a big hit and they didn't want to so it went nowhere. I dont think we are anywhere near a situation where someone will take over. This is a big reason i have always advocated a sustainable club that doesn't take these huge hits financially year on year as it makes it so hard to sell the club. Problem with that is if the consortium are trying to buy out NH on the cheap are they really then going to invest the £40m+ needed to build the UWE and a decent football team?? There's always the danager NH will sell off the Mem to pay off his debts he's built up himself under Plan B but certain posters will still suggest he's a true gashead so will do what's right for the club! I don't think a consortium would mind spending the money on the UWE and BRFC business a a whole, but not the added sums to cover the directors losses.

£40m for those two still seems an hell of an investment for a Div 2 side? Surely the Mem would pay off the BoD loans anyway or do the consortium expect them to hand that over?

To buy BRFC business as a whole you'd either need to pay off the loans or take over the debt wouldn't you?
Edit: In reply to Gastroenteritis.

I suppose not if the BoD were prepared to write off some of thier debts/loans, or swap them for share equity in the new set up/UWE?

Has there been any word on when the appeal is scheduled for? Thought it was going to be November-ish?

Looks like Nick does not want to do business with them, so they either come forward or we move on, they can't be that keen otherwise they would have showed their hand by now, instead of using fans on here who are only allowed to part with very little substance. patience is a virtue

How much longer been through fires, mangotsfield, Hallen, fruit market, do up the mem, Uwe, so sorry a trifle impatient now! remember Barry Bradshaw telling me about how great Hallen would be, done and dusted he said! we can't even get kids shirts ready for the open day!
