Apparently it is only half finished. The urinals go in next then the sh*thouse will be a fully furnished public toilet.

London exile. You should have divorced the missus, then you could have watched Eastenders instead. Much more like real life. .............. So I'm told I hasten to add.

From what I have seen from photos, it looks like a load of stands thrown together, much like the Mem. Seems strange to spend a load of money on such an unpleasant looking ground. I guess they have had to make the best of what they had to work with.

I have to drive past AG every day and I have to say I can't agree with the comments above. I think it will look pretty impressive when finished, the new Williams stand is massive and the South and Dolman stands seem to have been tied in and provide a smart wrap around of half the pitch. The park end stand which, when it was the old open terrace I danced on several times as The Gas beat the Sh!t is not very impressive, but overall I think it will be a fine stadium when finished.
Don't get me wrong, I hate saying this, but I suppose a £50 million. Outlay but Saint Sir Steve is going to deliver. I only hope he is losing interest in The Sh!t and is developing it for the rugby club because he can buy the success and recognition he obviously craves for a lot less via the egg chasers.
When I see the development of that ground it just emphasises what a shambles we are, with the endless will we/won't we with the UWE and the sh** hole we currently play in.

When UWE gets built I should have said. It will look nothing at all like the Memorial as the stands will merge into each other much like any other modern stadium. That may not be a good thing, but with forty million plus being spent on facilities, not capacity and Mr Lansdown rumored to have bought large tracts of land adjacent to Ashton Gate the multi sport stadium facilities will be of a very high standard. 26/7000 seats, Bristol Sport rebranding the club and City's support may create something that nobody will be envious of.

Not the point I was making probably badly. City could end up a hybrid of Cardiff and Coventry. Fans often have a pop at the library atmosphere and if the year goes South it could be 50$ full. Some City fans also have reservations about Bristol Sport, names of stands are being ditched, Bristol Sport are rebranding the ground as a multi purpose sporting and business facilty. City fans are already calling it sterile. So the use of nobody was wrong, many fans are not fans of soul less and singing "io io we are the corporate reds, io io we are the corporate reds .." Wont be so much fun after all.

Completely agree having 10 thousand empty seats is no fun at all, it's something we will have to be wary of in the uwe, at least we have fans that can raise an atmosphere though

Got to be honest, this is the first time I have seen it properly and it does look nice but when I have watched them on the box or listened to them on the radio it does seem very very quiet. I hope when/if the UWE gets built it will have a better atosphere than what they generate but then again we have always been louder than them anyway so should be ok.

This thread is some kind of joke right? No matter how bad their redevelopment seems, it's still a teeny bit better than ours!

Wholeheartedly agree with this, when theirs is finished it's going to look pretty good and you can't knock them for investing in their stadium. I've heard that SL is buying the houses behind the Ateyo one by one so that can be re-developed and complete the wrap around the pitch.

This thread is some kind of joke right? No matter how bad their redevelopment seems, it's still a teeny bit better than ours! But its what goes on in the ground that matters. You can have the best stadium in the world but if the experience when you visit is not good then people will stay away. The big thing they have going for them is that they are equipped to deal with bigger crowds and everyone has a degree of comfort. The big thing that Ashton Gate has not tackled ( like Leicester I would say) is parking - they do not have enough parking facilities. There is a saying that you cant make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and whilst they will have a new looking stadium I still think that a new build with a transport infrastructure around that has been built for the age that we live in would have been far better.
