Thought Jayden Stockley looked very good against us at the Mem for Pompey.
Battered our defence all game and scored their first that day (I believe?).
Has returned to Bournemouth after his loan and may be available now. Although not sure if Pompey plan on getting him back.

Unless we are going to sell MT I can't see how Tubbs will fit into the side, Gaffney proved beyond doubt the type of striker we need and it's not another MT/Easter type striker!

Tubbs was a done deal - He was ready to sign on loan deadline day but his toe meant he didnt pass his medical.
It was agreed prior to the game vs Southend in the JPT

Let Ellis, Easter, Bodin, Taylor play. They will do fine.

OK GUYS.... remember me, the one who told you Gaffers would make your day? I've been quiet up until now. Here's how I see it. Fact... Gaffers is back with us... not necessarily good but the facts. Personally I hope he integrates into our squad, and he does for us what he did for you.. There are complications... ie a phenominal loan spell, which would endear him to Brizzle.
You have benefited from a loan player who exceeded your and our expectations. We nursed this guy for nearly a year! Can you blame us from wanting to keep him, given our loan situation? I love the Ginger Minger, but raw talent is exactly what it says on the tin. Every club loses or keeps exceptional players, every year. It's a big call to say he'll do that again.
But, if you do him permanently, you won't have gone far wrong. If we lose The Ginger One, it wiil hurt, but hey, i'm sure you lot have let a few slip through.
Welcome to the sh** that is called League 2.

Cambridge have no need to rush, i dont think any progress will be made until they sign a striker to replace Ben Williamson - releasing him before that would cause uproar & a couple of weeks wages isnt too much for them to bear Problem is if we sign somebody else and Gaffers doesn't fit into thier plans they could be stuck paying his wages until the summer?

Yeah, looking at it from your point of view, it would really suck to pay a player's wages for a year, then loan him out to get him match fit, only to find that as soon as he hit a bit of form, he didn't want to come back. From one angle it probably looks like he's taking the water, but to give him the benefit of the doubt, he obviously just really enjoyed his time here, much more than he enjoyed it (through no fault of yours or his) at yours.

Whilst he wasn't injured didn't something v. similar happen to us with Zamora & Brighton?

Tweet from CUFC just now: We welcomed Rory back into the football club on Monday morning. He has had minutes on the pitch, got goals and comes back hungrier. Shaun Derry has confirmed that striker Rory Gaffney will be in the U's match day squad for the trip to Crawley on Saturday.

Does Derry usually tell everyone who's gonna be in the squad days before the match?

He's done it to clear up any 'speculation' on this occasion.
More from Derry: "My only intention in sending Rory out on loan was to get him fitter and hungrier for the rest of the season. Nothing has changed. People say a deal was struck. Nothing was ever struck. Absolutely nothing. Rory has got an opportunity and he needs to take it. I'd be a fool to completely rule out a deal, but the door at Bristol is closed in my eyes. He's got another open door at Cambridge."

Surely his opponents not knowing who will be in the squad is a good thing for him.
