I thought it was a fantastic read till i saw "Lincoln fan". What a happy soul! Can't work out what he's trying to do or say. If and its a big if from reading his comments he is a gashead, he sounds like the sort who ought to stay away from the mem or wherever we play!!

As much as I respect Lincolns views I dont really think he understands what makes us so passionate regards Bristols oldest proffessional football club. Im sure Lincoln City (if Thats his team) have had some success in their history but the passion of the gashead runs deeper as we sort of have a rival a few miles south of the river..... I do not recall Lincoln having two teams in their City, that my friends is the difference for me!!!

Makes me laugh when people like Lincoln say its a call of pride and loyalty in the shirt. I have steered clear of that romantic twaddle which, incidentally, I get fed up with too. Why don't people read what it says. All I've asked is that these players show pride in themselves and don't forget that at one stage someone deemed them good enough to offer them a contract. If they haven't quite realised their potential, or if things have gone wrong, it is NOT TOO LATE ie the Stuart Pearce example. He never wore blue and white quarters. Players should be playing for themselves and for personal pride as much as their team mates and the club. If they do that and give everything, and something great comes of it... like getting our club back into the Football League, they will become Bristol Rovers heroes... end of. So how about a clarion call to your supporters or would you be wasting your time if something great doesn't come of it? We will have to beg to differ. Still think it was well written meaningless tripe. You do not seem to have dealt with Smith and Mildenhall (or their agents) bombarding League One and Two clubs with "show reels". For some unaccountable reason this end they were advised to get out of the Conference if at all possible. Can't say about "Mildy" but Smith's bloke managed it and despite, apparently, his young lady being born and bred Bristol Rovers he's f**ked off to the fens. I wonder why? Everyone playing in the Conference Premier is simply here because they haven't had a better offer from higher up. Perhaps that is something you could also deal with in a forthcoming column? I look forward to it. Close but no cigar mate.it wasn't the polak chap it was me (The Bluedeemer) and it's psalm 23.Just to let you know,I backed John Ward to the bitter end but did agree with his move upstairs as he looked and acted like a man who had run out of ideas. My amended rendition of said psalm was removed by the mods in the final days of the OF after being allowed to stay there from before pre-season.In your 2nd last paragraph you appear to have morphed into a water taking sheed and although some of your post is well reasoned all clubs fans will turn on their manager if things go awry, but the point you try to make doesn't fit as john ward nor the players were turned against while the action was taking place and the fans were actually magnificent in support of a team that never performed to a standard that they were capable of achieving. You can read and watch on tv all you like but the only way to get a true feel of the atmosphere is to actually be there.

and you also had to remember when we were in the position of a win would save us a player was awol on the pitch just after he did a newspaper article saying he dint want to be here, another at the end of the season was alleged to have said to another in the car park dont worry we wont be here next season, or the director smirking in his car after that match, or the board removing a forum without advance warning because they were being criticised, there's plenty on here to read about wardy not everyone blames him and why did he get taken on when it was well know his heart wasn't 100% in the game. At the end of the day if someone's pulling on the shirt then slagging of the club of course he's going to get some stick. Not sure if you realise Lincoln but bristol is for some reason unique in the english football world, its difficult to explain unless you were born here, the team you supported used to determine almost your whole life, you were either blue or red and you hated the reds with a vengeance, it has split families my dad was blue the rest of his family was red, the last time i spoke to any of them was at dad's funeral, some say that's stupid or daft but down here it was just the was it was and still is for some. another example i was asked told to do some work at ag by my boss, he was told to fook off, i refused point blank, he threatened my with the sack , i merely said when do you want the car and tools back, i ended up with a written warning but the boss understood as he's was bristolian. As i said its difficult to explain to people who arnt from down here
