Truth is, we'll never be informed what the bids were and I think that's wise and correct. If, for example, someone had bid £250k for Matty, there would then be huge discussions regarding "why didn't we take the money" and "he's worth more" - really not worth the bother in my opinion.

I think its up at the end of the season, but as he's under 24 we will still get a fee for him. Think I read or heard somewhere that only Easter is contracted beyond this season.

Also, Lawrence is guaranteed a deal if we get promotion.

This is where by not dishing out 3 year contracts is hurting us, but Id much rather have it this way than the Mcghee days all day long. If we have to take the hit then so-be-it.

Probably a couple of small feeling out bids to test the water, they may have another go at getting them closer to the end of the window, can't see anyone making a bid anywhere near big enough tho

I think it's Easter, Sinclair and Gaffney plus Lawrence if we get promoted. Gaffney signed an 18 month contract a couple of weeks ago.

I realise this is pure speculation and guesswork but how much do you think was offered for Matty T & Locks? (presuming it was them) DC states only silly money would prise them away. not a fan of speculation and guesswork but I will sort of. Locks is 'worth' a LOT to us because he will be a very good player at a higher level and still has 10 years or more in him. he is worth a fortune to someone else so we have to make sure we get several million for him if he ever goes. I'm not exaggerating. Like Larry Lloyd, Mabbutt, Roberts etc he will play at a high level for many, many seasons, so he is valuable. sadly the world doesn't always work like we may want it to, so we have to be very very careful with Locks. I don't want yet another young player going for little and giving a so called biiger club a lot of easy profit & success.

Only people like DC will really know if they think Taylor will sign a new contract. if someone wants a fit in-form striker who can hit the ground running and get stuck straight into a promo / rele fight, then someone will pay over the odds for Taylor.

I'm only going on what I've heard on this forum. I think the information came out after someone asked Darrell the question about who was under contract for next season at a Supporters Club Q&A.
