"Too much of all our midfielders time is spent having to help out the defence and play back and with our defence so deep it is that much more difficult to get forward."
Why's that only an issue for you when we don't win? I can't recall you complaining when the same midfielders are playing the same roles and we win?
Although I still can't understand why DC didn't keep last weeks starting 11. I wonder if any other Div 2 team is constantly changing between playing wing backs & wingers each match??

We've won one away, drawn at home to the league leaders and lost away 0-1 at another top of the table side.
I am not worried. We are going to lose games in a season. We may lose again, and again, and then string 5 wins together.
We have a few new players.
We have added players in small quantities at each juncture with DC, and often there is a small adjustment before us pushing on some more. I take this as another small adjustment.
We have some players yet to hit form. Lines, I believe, will start motoring when it starts getting more serious towards the end of the year. He is a big game player if Wembley and FGR was anything to go by. We have some much needed experience and a good attitude in Lawrence and fallon, and gafney has a track record of scoring in quarters.
I also believe Montano will come into some form now. He's consistently whacked good quality crosses in at pace and gafney and fallon are good targets to aim at. He's been hampered by our lack of players who attack the ball in the air.
There are a lot of really positive things happening and I think the new players will bed in and we will push on.
Happy with playoffs. Auto would be incredible.

Doesn't matter if they are or not? We're above most of them so DC is doing something right.

Topper Gas, my problem is not with the way we have been playing when we win or when we lose. My problem is how we are going to integrate new players we are signing into the team when to do so will mean a reduction in the amount of support to the back four, Creative players can by their nature sometimes be called luxury players and we now have more what I would call luxury players. I am not saying they won't give as much effort but their game play would veer more to attacking than defending and our very successful defence will need to change a bit to play these experienced additions who have not signed to warm the bench. As I see it we will need to add the pace of Leadbitter in the back four and move up as a unit quicker to support more experienced and cultured midfield players who do not have the enrgy of a lot of our players.

Taylor has never really formed a good partnership with any of his co-strikers? He's done alright with Ellis, funnily enough, although they haven't been on the pitch together as much as I thought: 2014/15: 1007 minutes played, 13 goals scored (Ellis 5, Matty 8) at a goal every 77 mins. 2015/16: 629 minutes played, 6 goals scored (Ellis 3, Matty 3) at a goal every 105 mins. In total 1636 minutes played, 19 goals scored (Ellis 8, Matty 11) at a goal every 86 mins.

The one thing that screamed out to me when I read the lineup before kick off was NO PACE.
We had a dreadfully slow side the season we went down from L2 and yesterday's side was also lacking in the sort of pace that hurts/scares defences.
Taylor, Gaffney and Bodin aren't slow, but I wouldnt call any of them quick either. Lawrence is slow.
Only Leadbitter and Montano possess genuine pace in our squad IMO, and when they don't play I think we can look a little one-paced in certain games.

good report thanks,,the only trouble with saying "we should have done this or that" or played a different system is that its all said in hindsight and as we all know hindsight is a wonderful thing. i wish we would always play leadbitter as he has real pace of can scare the hell out of opponents, always suprised if hes left out

I guess what we don't get is DC's insight into why he picked a certain team, for all we know he could have looked at the pitch/weather and thought it wasn't a game for Leadbitter.

Taylor was so not interested on Saturday the changes could start with him. If he didn't like the cold on Saturday, wait till he climbs over Hadrians Wall.
