Let's see if we can pick up some new members first everyone.
I greatly admire everyone's generosity but we can't keep relying on the same people digging in their pockets it leaves me personally feeling uneasy as you have all given so much. If we can't afford it this season that's fine.
The cost of sponsoring players and the 1883 club has risen sharply this year and I'm sure many of you have spent more than usual following your team, some spending money they can Ill afford.
Let's see if we can pick up some new members and if not still feel proud together of what we've achieved from humble beginnings.
Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. UTG

How much would it cost to produce some flyers? I reckon it might be worth the outlay. If we gave them out at the mem it would raise awareness of the group and its aims. There must be a lot of people who aren't actively on social media that don't know we exist. Offer them the chance of joining up in person on match days. I'm sure enough of us would volunteer to do a stint on duty.

The sticker guy on here was doing 100 stickers for a couple of quid.
It can't be too expensive to do up say 5000 flyers and stickers.
Might be worth the risk of outlay to promote ourselves.

Flyers a great idea, but don't we have email addresses of all forum users? Or do we not have permission to market to them?

I use www.saxoprint.co.uk If anyone has seen the shellshock publishing one I send out with book orders, it is that one. mine was 2,500 copies for about £60 I think. full colour, DL 4pp, folded [strangely some places charge a fortune for folding! saxoprint do it for little extra]. The thing I like about them is not only their prices, quaility and speed, but also everything is done online, and you can amend everything at the touch of a button and instantly see how it affects the quote. I'm not on commission. ditto for stickers, but there are lots of other places that do stickers, and might we worth shopping around more for them.

Having done the fun day last three years I am reluctant to hand out flyers , most people see it as an inconvenience and for anyone handing them out it can be not only thankless but difficult as some people can be quite blunt in telling you they aren't interested.
The fans forum sponsor club began on a forum and maybe the clue is in the title. The supporters club do a fantastic job in and around the ground and our platform is online. Just this forum has what? 1100 members? We have just over a hundred signed up so if we can't encourage a few more on here I feel it's unlikely we will get more by in effect cold calling on them while they are trying to enjoy their day at the Mem.
So let's see if we can persuade more on here to join up, no trying to force people but just reminding people who we are and what we do. The good thing then is we can keep people up to date on progress etc. The problem with members who do not use forums is it's very difficult to find them if they win anything and that can pose problems later on.
We appreciate all the feedback and thank everyone for their support. If we can't afford the 1883 club this year so be it. We can all be proud of what we have achieved. UTG

how much does an ad cost in the programme? if it was the right cost, we gave examples of whats been achieved, whats been won, and a feeling of the unity created then is it worth a put? i agree with what jon has said. face on marketing can be hard work, i even feel it could actually be counter-productive to an extent. i've done charity collections at the mem, and no matter how well meaning it all is, some people just feel uncomfortable with the format of approach, which of course has to be respected.

You would think the club would accommodate some advertising space for free as the ffsc is raising money that goes straight into BRFC pockets. probs don't want to be officially linked with the other ffs connotation.
