Mansfield did not relegate us we did that all by ourselves This...*if* we make the playoffs and *if* we face Mansfield or Wycombe or whoever, we try to win it for Bristol Rovers. No team other than Bristol Rovers 2013-14 team was responsible for us going down...we burnt off the deadwood and out of the ashes we've become stronger and better...

Anyone who says that it was the worst moment of their life has had an easy life I reckon. Nobody died we got relegated. Being a rovers fan is never an easy life.

It was a big cliff we fell off....in terms of pride (vs finance) it was a bigger disappointment to lose our league status than being relegated from the Premiership. But we've come back better. And stronger. On and off the field. Is everything perfect? No. Has it worked out well for us? Yes. Would you go back 2-3 years and change it (risking more years of slow decline)...? Answers on a postcard...

It would be interesting to see a league table of underperformed clubs ie those with the largest fan base/against seemingly terminal decline? Whilst Pompey & Plymouth stand alongside side us now in Div 2 they've at least been upto the Championship & Premiership in recent times. Possibly, Grimsby, Lincoln & Wrexham fans have suffered more than us in recent years, and both will do well to escape non league football this season.

Coventry City and Sheffield United in L1 seem obvious examples. But times have changed in the lower leagues. Nobody can now play teams like Burton Albion, Accrington and Wycombe and think they are tiny clubs to be rolled over.
