Wasn't there a story where one of our subs went out to, ahem, glean information from a newly launched Russian destroyer and ended up sitting about 10m below it's keel for weeks without being detected? Is this the one you are thinking of? Operation Barmaid (no, not that sort) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Conqueror_(S48)#Operation_BarmaidPossibly. I'm really not up on stuff like that, although I wish I was, fascinates me.

Urban Myth: There was uproar in the Mess/Galley. The RSM bursts in to sort it out. "OK", he shouts. "Who called the Chef a cant?" Someone at the back replied, "Who called the cant a Chef!".

I may joke about military Chef's, but I've got to say that they generally served up top quality scran.

Possibly. I'm really not up on stuff like that, although I wish I was, fascinates me. I can recommend some good books if you are interested. Also the submarine museum in Gosport is good, if a little off the beaten track.

It is already being reported that they put 'something' into space, and that it already is 'tumbling' and coming back down. I've also read that the 'thing' actually orbited over the stadium one hour after the Super Bowl ended. Were the North Koreans trying to send some sort of message?
