PS - Yes, I have failed as a parent. The shame is everlasting. My son doesn't even like football.

They have bought season tickets this year and are complaining about price hikes in the future. Can't agree with your point. Well, the point on one level is actual factual, ie they really are in the ground having paid to get there. But the intended implication is that while there is still a market (and they are the market), the prices will be subject to the laws of supply and demand. For every scouser who sticks to his guns and refuses to get a ticket next season (or simply cannot afford one) there will be three queuing up to replace him. And the market is effectively a monopoly, coz not many will decide to go to Everton, or Tranmere, instead. At some point we have to stop referring to teams as 'clubs'. For example, if it was called " Liverpool ltd" rather than Liverpool Football Club I would agree they can charge 'the fans' (aka the audience) what they want. Sooner or later they will understand that they get where they've got because of the 'club' element of the name. Businesses fail all the time because they perform poorly in the short/medium term and can't afford to continue. Clubs rarely do and, whilst some will say this is because of the people at the top investing their money, we all know and both on and off the pitch it's the fanbase who come week-in, week out, who buy the overpriced merchandise, the rubbish food and the watery beer who actually keep the 'clubs' going through the tough times. Here's an idea, let's reward them in the better times.

Lots of people can't afford it. If we ever got to the Premier league, you wouldn't be there but we would have lots of new supporters. Howdoyou know i won't be there lots of time i'm only 5

My son doesn't even like football. How old is he? Mini Me MkI wasn't interested until he was about twelve years old. I wasn't interested at all until about the same age. Then it just hit me. If you can get them checking the rovers results they'll eventually start to care!

Same here, I remember the 2006 World Cup getting me hooked, not long after that I started going to Rovers with family and my life has been full of dissapointed ever since!

Liverpool have just scrapped the £77 Tickets, hope this sets a precedent to other clubs (Notts county) as football is becoming too expensive for the average fan, especially the more higher up the pyramid you go

I didn't even watch football till about 12, at about 8 my grandad took me to a football tournament with his team and I refused to play and sat in the car because it was so cold. Few years later I was playing in Division 1 and won the players player of the season which felt good considering I was a right back! Think it was our 2006/07 season that got me hooked, my dad is a Rovers fan and I never really took a interest until the second half of that season.
