I don't want Rovers home games to look like Elland Road tonight... So much empty space... If we're honest, UWE would be like that a lot We make great noise from the Blackthorn when we want to. So what if other clubs think we have a sh!t ground!? We should enjoy & appreciate the mem for what it is. So the sh!t have got the ''new'' Trashton... Just means they've got a bigger, nicer looking library now! If the appeal comes to nothing, which it probably will, then we shouldn't be too down! UTG!

Yes I agree to me the atmosphere at twerton was great as well I would much rather have a smaller stadium full rather than a bigger one half empty

Have you ever sat in the south stand,if you have you will know the blackthorn end isn't that loud it just sounds loud when your amongst it A new ground would attract more fans, better players and investors and take the club forward If Bournemouth can do it in their ground though with a bit of money can't see why we can't too,to get 22k every home game I think we would have to be in the premiership

hmmmmm.....
the twerton rose tinted specs.... yes, I wear them too....
the reality is we will never have a ground where 3/4 of the fans are stood up in a shed to the side of the pitch again....
enjoy the memories....

Not this again. Like it or not Football is a business these days, without a decent stadium the club cannot progress. It's much more than the 90 minutes on the pitch every week.

Modern day family want something better than a dripping roof over their heads these days

Modern day family want something better than a dripping roof over their heads these days Is it possible to buy a pasty or pie at The Mem during the game, under cover.
I think all the outlets are in the open and you get wet when it is raining. At all new stadiums I have been too, these facilities are within the covered are.
That's just one reason for new stadium. Why would someone visiting The Mem for the first time even begin to think that is acceptable.

The roof at Twerton was great except when it rained. The drainpipes didn't work properly and overflowed onto the crowd below. Near where I stood a small gap appeared in the crowd for the water to land.
Toilets were treated walls with a trough below, I avoided the food and it was an obstacle course just to get from the turnstiles to the Popular Side.
I loved it even in the dark days when few of us turned up but I wouldn't wish to repeat it today. Football is not as it was and expectations are much higher. If we don't change then we will lose yet another generation of so far unaligned fans.

well rather than staying sat in the tent knocking the boys who are singing, why not get over to the Blackthorn and help make it louder!? UTG Capacity is limited, it won't help the acoustics of the ground just because one more individual can hear better. eh? I'm saying rather than just saying ''the blackthorn isn't that loud from the sound stand'', get in the Blackthorn and sing with everyone else to help get the noise up, so that it does sound louder from the South Stand! I've heard it before over the years when I've stood in other areas of the ground for the odd game ''Cmon Blackthorn End, make more noise, you're supposed to be loud''.... Well how about making some noise yourself mate!!

I am all for looking for a silver lining on the inevitable cloud that approaches... BUT, our ground is an absolute dump that I for one have no emotional connection with what so ever... To be frank.
It is quarter rugby ground, quarter cricket pavilion. quarter tennis stand and quarter old fashioned football terrace.
The place is a dump that is holding us as a club back.

You can have every fan possible making a noise in the north stand and it will still sound crap in the south stand. It's a question of acoustics, not a slight on the fans.

The ground is too open, when I do get chance to go I stand opposite the tunnel and do join in but the noise doesn't carry that far from what I can tell. Maybe others can confirm either way.
Agree about other areas singing up rather than relying on one end.
