Drunken soppy post alert
Just wanted to say how much we owe the loyal fans who stuck with this club through thick and thin. There were times we all didn't get along but the crowds in non league and league 2 since we first went down have been simply amazing and kept us alive.
I personally haven't got to as many games as i like the last 3 seasons due to a variety of non football reasons so would personally like to thank all the season ticket holders and loyal fans who kept my team alive and made us such a good prospect to these buyers.
I have a ten month old boy i was dreading trying to convince to be a gashead in a world full of glory hunters. I hope now he will have something special to follow and be proud of.
Cheers guys, mean it with every sincerity

Great post Dinsdale.
The guy said they looked at many clubs and the fan base was one of the deciding factors.
For every fan that gets up at stupid o clock to travel away, or missed an important family occasion or spent money they couldnt really afford, to get to a home game, your loyalty has paid off.

Perhaps as a gesture our new owners could give any fan who's had a season ticket for over 3 years a free one next season?

I've had a few disagreements with fellow revellers in the west enclosure over the years....
time moves on, some times for better, sometimes not....
it's all part of it, the fact is that those people i've had disagreements with over the past 25 years I have the upmost respect for. firstly for being there, and secondly for not knocking my front teeth out....

How about a scheme to attract first time ST holders? Seat in the new stadium? Do you think the ones that got promised that a few years ago still get that option?

I agree with Disdale on this.
But I would also like to add that the current squad and Darrell Clarke deserve huge props.
Before we got relegated to the conference I'd followed Rovers all over the country. Mansfield and Port Vale stick out as 'stupid' away draws witnessed. I was obsessed.
But after relegation, honestly, I confess, I was ready to give up. I was sick of it. Gone.
Yet Bristol Rovers is what me and my dad 'do.' By this point he's definitely out to- neither had disclosed this to the other yet but we both knew the divorce was inevitable.
Chance demands that I watch the first game of the conference-season, after recording a podcast at a pub in Midsomer Norton, with a Liverpool and Arsenal fan. A wandering toddler pulled the plug before half-time much to my relief. It was useless, I was right to be "out."
Yet, neither I or my dad could say - "Bristol Rovers?? --- Eh, Nah...." to eachother so we went . And suddenly this 5'7ft hairywonder is kicking everybody and i'm hooked. Balanta scores a last minute winner, and suddenly I'm searching for 3G on snowden as Rovers go into the dying minuets, at Halifax.
I didn't give um, I almost did but the current squad stop me.
So to DC and the gang: Thanks.

I was there at that foggy day in Nuneaton, that incredibly boring afternoon at Woking and that gutting day at Dover and I must say that they were all worth it. Even more so now with today's news. As per the op I am also a few units past making sense but if today marks the start of a new era I am immensely proud that I was there at the lowest of lows and for a some reason rather enjoyed them! Here's to the future!!

Top posting guys.
One thing about being relegated to the conference is that it seems to have rekindled and galvanised my love for the club. For years I have watched and slowly reduced the times I have gone, as a parent of a child with a life limiting condition I had to decide between spending time with him and watching football. However that fateful day hurt ss much as if I was a kid again watching us leave Eastville and struggling initially at Twerton, I was in mourning.
Whilst I still couldn't get to games often I felt being part of a wider family again, it has become my pressure release and helps me to cope.
Maybe yesterday has become a reward for so many years of pain.

Maybe yesterday has become a reward for so many years of pain. I was exactly like this, over the last 10 years or so my attending games dropped down to just a few games every season, but when we got relegated it just sparked something in me, my club needed me, I went to every home game and over half of the away ones as well and fully rediscovered my love for the club, really felt part of the family again. Now I couldn't imagine not going to as many games as possible, and yesterday really does feel like winning the lottery and a great reward for going to Twerton for all those years and suffering everything we've been through.
