Refreshing to hear the new owner talk about moving the club in the right direction commercially.
Hopefully the main shirt sponsors will be a big local name instead of holding a raffle. Sounds like there will be a big shake up now Boycie has gone, he's held that club back for years with his car sales man approach.
Be nice to see some former players back introduced to the pre match roast dinner instead of listening to the same bloke on the mic week in week out.
Not only that we may even get some leisurewear in the shop people will actually want to buy!
Onwards and upwards, utg

Silk ties and scarves made of actual wool for the high spenders. Will sell at least of one of each to Whale.

What happens to the businesses that have already entered the draw for next season? There was a poster up advertising it for next season in the bar.

I don't think new owners will necessarily attract new sponsors quickly. Even at championship level they struggle - who are RSG? Hull sponsored by flamingo park and KC stadium full of ads for small local business much like the mem

I think there is a lot more to the "commercial" aspirations of the new President and Chairman, than what is stocked in Pirate leisure. I am still trying to get my mind around it, but there should be no need for us to proceed like a Sunday league team. I expect that new sponsorship and partnership opportunities will emerge, but not perhaps over night.
Both President and Chairman seem excellent communicators and have embraced the local media in these early days.

We could well be sponsored by the Jordanian Investment Bank next season?? Are they looking for a lot of TV time on Channel 5 in the UK or expecting many of the 7000+ fans in the stadium to have millions to invest but to not have heard of them before now...?

Whilst good for local businesses and the community, holding a raffle every year is rather embarrassing for a professional football club.
Extensive contacts will surely be used to set up a decent sponsorship deal. At the end of the day, the new owners still want the club to make money so sponsorship is very important.
We will have to wait and see about the kit suppliers. Are we under any sort of contract with them? A superstore at the new stadium and maybe another shop in town would be a good start and I look forward to the improved, modern world ticket sales!

Yeah I think so. I was going to switcha accounts on Monday. If as many of our supporters do this as the ones that boycott Sainsbury, ajib will take over the world.

My thoughts exactly. Companies that sponsor football clubs do so primarily because they see football fans as potential new customers. Perhaps the view is slightly different if that club is live on Sky every 5 minutes, but I don't think the average fan on the Blackthorn has a need for AJIB and AJIB will understand that!

I have assumed that AJIB Bank will be our sponsors as its a good way to get cash into the club without breaching financial fair play rules. Without some mechanism like that, whilst we may have rich owners, we will NOT be a rich club. Yes they could buy Rooney for us, but we then couldn't pay his wages without being in breach!

I can't see how WAQ would know that the Errea stuff is unpopular, unless we make an effort to let him know. Boycie isn't going to tell him.
