Don't know if anybody else has done this but have set up raspberry pi with xbmc on it which gives you literally every channel and movie. Costs about £50-60 to set up. Brilliant value.

Sounds interesting, but all a bit double Dutch to me. Any chance you could explain it for me in non technical terms? Cheers!

There's an app for it. ALSO if you're outside the UK you might want to subscribe to unblock-us.com. It's just $5/month and you can watch BBC, HTV C4 and C5 on your computer/devices. UTG!

You did indeed KP. I remember you telling everyone about this on the OF. What is so special about the Raspberry Pi though? It's a stripped down basic bit of kit as I understand it. Can this be xbmc software be installed and run on a PC or do Microsoft stop it happening on their devices, as they tend to?

Yes it can put the raspberry pi is a small and cheap option to hook up to a tv. I wouldnt want my pc hooked up to the tv personally.

I've looked at the Raspberry PI on the web. Do you need to purchase any of the other cables, keyboard etc, in order to use it? I have the usual stuff, HDMI leads etc. Cheers.

I'm pretty good with computers and stuff, but I think I'll need some help with this. From my understanding you'll need the raspberry pi, an SD chip and a cable. I haven't really looked into it but does the google chromecast do the same thing? Although I think I'll have to wait till I get a job, so I've got some money to spend. Things are a bit tight at the moment. more info needed ggmi.

I might sound old fashioned, but I find it a lot easier to go to a football ground, pay a tenner/twenty and watch a game of football....
I do sympathise with those of you who are not entirely local though

You need a Raspberry Pi HDMI Cable (try and use one with ethernet support as then you might be able to use your tv remote as the control - I tried a normal cheap cable and it didn't let me use the tv remote but when I tried a better cable with ethernet support it worked) Micro USB Cable (Power supply) SD Card (If you're not good with computers then buy a ready made one with XBMC already on it - I can point you in the right place) An ethernet cable
