I guess one thing in our favour is that he's a personal friend of Prince Ali, then I sense he'll look a right berk if he bankrupts a team in England if Ali becomes FIFA President I can defo see some Fifa money coming our way to help develop the academic side of the club

The root and branch review promised 18 months ago Ha. Forgotten about that. I guess it's almost amusing now, looking back on it.

This talk of loaning against the stadium is only relevant if they buy the freehold. Remember, UWE will not otherwise allow loans against the stadium.
The reality is, why would they borrow against their own asset?

The reality is, why would they borrow against their own asset? Because doing so makes it tax deductible against the business? Maybe they will lend themselves the money?

50-50 tickets will double in cost. 5p on every pasty. 5p on the price of a programme. 5p to have a pee.
It's gonna cost us !
Or am I still stuck in the past?

Seems like a simple question on the face of it. Our "billionaire" owner gifts the club circa £50m. I don't think it's going to be that simple. I think the money will be borrowed as a business loan. It will then be paid back from the revenue the stadium generates. Could be a while before BRFC see profits from the Stadium being invested in the team. Also, as with any borrowing against predicted ROI - an element of risk is going to be involved. Could be wrong, but just saying because I don't think we should fool ourselves into believing it's going to be straightforward. As the new President owns 92% share in the football club - I am sure whatever deal he arranges will be the best for him - remember if he loans the club the money he is loaning the money to himself!

I think you are right to raise the question. There are a raft of new unknowns and it probably won't be clear for months how/when/if the UWE stadium will progress and then what the financing structure will be. I'm still pretty guarded as I am sure most of us are, but Wael is a smart cookie and so are the rest of his family. Steve Hamer is 'connected' and the calibre of the appointments today bodes well in my opinion. The root and branch review promised 18 months ago is finally taking place! Who else was added other than the one name mentioned earlier? I was referring to Lee Atkins and the engagement of Taylor Wessing Secretaries as a company. I'd imagine more is to come, but it all looks a lot more professional to me.

Or am I still stuck in the past? nah just got the maths wrong the 50-50 will now have a 50% price reduction and a 50% price increase on the price only 5p on a pasty them's worth lots more than that 5p on a program well ink is more expensive now %p to have a pee nah just pish where you stand like in the old days

When he spoke with Twentyman on Saturday after the match, he said that a priority was to make he management within he club more professional - intact I'm sure he criticised the current lack of structure. Twentyman being slightly dumb immediately though he was referring to DC ( why I don't know) but he soon quashed that.
I'm not expecting anything other than him getting the management structure in order this season. He can then assist DC over the summer with recruitment/retention.
FWIW - contracts of current players........
