Mildenhall 7 did his job well J. Clarke 7 not much got by him Lockyer 8 composed, solid and better passing too McChrystal 5 a bit shakey at times but kept going Brown 7 up against a lively winger but still got forward and put in some great crosses Bodin 7 really good first half, better when he came inside and effected the play more, not so much second half when he stayed more out wide Mansell 6 good battling display Lines 7 much better with the ball and kept involved Lawrence 7 best I have seen him, some lovely passing and more mobile Taylor 8 back to his normal self plus goals, helped imo by a more passing on the deck Gaffney 7 great shift and a goal, which I can't wait to see again comical defending Subs: Easter 6 buzzed about and looked lively Harrison 5 struggled to get in the game O. Clarke 6 added some steel Crowd 6 thankfully their keeper got um going Ref 5 Hartlepool 5 awful defence, but passed it about and broke well second half, could of had a couple of goals more, could have conceded a few more

Mildenhall 7 Looked comfortable throughout. No chance with their goal.
J. Clarke 7 Fairly solid game. Lockyer 8 Never put a foot wrong, read the game so well. McChrystal 6 Looked a bit rusty but no major mistakes. Brown 7 Kept a very tricky winger quiet and broke forward with some good crosses.
Bodin 7 Showed some nice touches. Mansell 6.5 Worked hard and tackled well. Lines 7 Passed the ball around well and kept possession. Lawrence 7.5 Best performance from him so far.
Taylor 10 Worked his socks off coming deep and holding up play, laying the ball off and scoring a hat trick. Back to the form he was in pre xmas. Gaffney 7 Good performance and a well taken goal, was holding his hamstring prior to coming off, fingers crossed it's not too bad.
Subs: Easter 6 Looked lively when he came on. Harrison 6 Great to see him back. O. Clarke Not on long enough.
Crowd 6 Ref 6 Hartlepool 6 Good going forward but kamikaze defending. They got enough about them to stay up i feel.

Mildenhall 6 done what needed to do..
J. Clarke 6 how many times will he get the ball and turn backwards??? Lockyer 8 let's try and keep him as best player on the pitch McChrystal 6 ok just slow on the turn Brown 6 ok put some good crosses over as norm
Bodin 4 as a winger awful...no shape and struggles on right foot?? Mansell 5 gave the ball away too much no movement Lines 6 only person creating anything but still not good enough Lawrence 6 either stands up front or at the back can't go up and down, so as in a winger awful
Taylor 7 worked hard and great he got his hat trick to keep the idiots who were saying to get rid of him last couple of weeks Gaffney 6 took goal well, worked hard but his movement was poor last night
Subs: Easter 5 didn't have much time to show much..should have put fallon on Harrison 4 looked out of sorts but not much time given O. Clarke 6 looked better than bodin straight away
Crowd 6 good interaction with the keeper to cheer everyone up Ref 5 not great but we've had worse Hartlepool 5 I thought 4-1 was flattering as they played more consistent football when they got it and won first and second balls every time in midfield but had no forward threat

Mildenhall 7 no chance with their goal and our best defensive player
Clarke J 5 collectively our back four were porous and a better side than Hartlepool would have punished us more than the once Lockyer 6 had his hands full McChrystal 7 probably the best outfield defender, composed despite obvious rustiness Brown 8 scores more than MM because of his value to our attack, linking superbly with Lawrence and firing across some excellent crosses. Defensively he was as culpable as the others for the alarming lapses that gave Hartlepool opportunities to make it a closer game
Bodin 8 lively and inventive in a stellar attacking display Mansell 7 commanded the central midfield Lines 6 one of my favourite players but was hit and miss in this one, gave possession away cheaply on occasion and has lost the knack of putting chances away. Lawrence 8 hardly wasted a ball all night and linked well with Brown Taylor 9 stretched the Hartlepool back line and was back to his best finishing wise Gaffney 8 ran them ragged and took his goal well None of the subs were on long enough to make a real impact. . Hartlepool 3 As poor a side as we've seen down the mem Ref 4 usual Swabey performance Crowd 8 thanks to pools keeper!

We've had some problems in midfield recently. I've mentioned before that, for whatever reason, DC has been reluctant to pair Mansell with Lines in a 4-4-2 this season. Maybe this is purely because he sees Sinclair as our number 1 CM, which is fair enough. The partnership was integral to our strong finish to last season though, so maybe, with Lawrence filling the Monkhouse role, we have hit on a good formula again.

Mildenhall 6
J. Clarke 5 Lockyer 7 McChrystal 6 Brown 8 We were excellent down the left today
Bodin 6 Mansell 6 Lines 6 Lawrence 8 we were excellent down the left
Taylor 8 MoM due to his goals but 2 of the three were gift-wrapped by Lawrence and Brown Gaffney 7
Subs: Easter 6 Harrison 5 O. Clarke - 5
Crowd 7. surprisingly subdued but top-class keeper baiting Ref 6 didn't really notice him which is unusual Hartlepool 5. Tried to play but some serious weaknesses in that squad, especially at the back

Mildenhall 6 solid display commanded box well.
J. Clarke 6 ok performance. Lockyer 6 kept busy, Hartlepool got forward very well. McChrystal 6 solid no nonsense still a bit rusty. Brown 9 MOTM quality assists, link up play and composed on the ball and not mentioning CONSISTENCY.
Bodin 6 a bit in a out but has the quality to affect a game. Mansell 6 battled well. Lines 6 a bit sloppy at times but gives quality as well. Lawrence 8 his best game very influential on the night. Put in a great shift.
Taylor 8.5 nice to see Matty back from his winter break with a perfect hatrick. Gaffney 8 worked hard for the team, scored hope the hammy is ok.
Subs: Easter 5 Harrison 5 O. Clarke 5
Crowd 6 Ref 6 Hartlepool 4 Opened us up to easy at times but kamikaze defending let them down. On that showing they should have enough to stay up.

Mildenhall 7 Dealt with some dodgy backpasses well, couple of good saves. Clarke 6.5 No frills full back display Lockyer 7 Usual Tom display. Met Toms dad tonight, 8 for him, nice bloke. McChrystal 7 No major errors, very steady under pressure.
Brown 7 Mr reliable Bodin 7.5 Definately adds something to the team.Should start every game. Uses both feet and can head the ball. Mansell 7. Steady display Lines 7. Nice to see him carrying the ball forward. Lawrence 7.5 Thought he was excellent. Taylor 9 Deserving of MOM for his all round display, not just his goals. At last he looked up f or it from the first whistle Gaffney 8.5 Created loads of space by terrorising their centrebacks. Pity about his hamstring.
Easter 5 Tried with little effect Harrison 2 Did he actually touch the ball? Offered nothing. Clarke O Not on long enough.
Crowd 6 FFSC in Dribuild boxes 9 Ref 7.5 Probably the best this season Hartlepool 7 Back four suspect, with their hunger to attack from the start created a very open game. Final score flattered us.

Mildenhall 7 the best keeper we've had for years, he's still got it! J. Clarke 6.5 decent game but he needs to get tighter on his wide man Lockyer 7.5 typical Locks game McChrystal 6.5 ok but i prefer Parkes in that position Brown 7 some lovely crosses he had a lively winger to keep quiet which he did well Bodin 7 a live wire,he offers something different Mansell 7 grafted well, tired late on on was rightly subbed Lines 7.5 more like the Linesy we all know Lawrence 7.5 Now I see why DC signed him, he must always play in the 'Monkhouse' roll Taylor 9 when his tails up its just not the goals he scores its his all round play. He was outstanding. Gaffney 8 gave 'Pools defence a torrid time Subs: Easter 6 looked sharp in a cameo roll Harrison 5 didn't get in the game in his short time on. O. Clarke 6 slotted in well in the few minutes he was on. Crowd 7 made a bit of noise Ref 7 decent Hartlepool 5 decent when they had the ball , defensively shocking,if they survive it'll only be because Daggers and York are worse

Mildenhall 6.5 Made a couple of nice saves
J. Clarke 6.5 Looked slow at times, but dealt with what he had too Lockyer 7 Confident on the ball McChrystal 5.5 Lacked pace, though that wasn't a problem against Paynter Brown 8 Two assists and should have had another but for Taylor's offside
Bodin 7 Nice little movement for the first goal. Dropped out of the game at times, but has a spark. Mansell 7 Solid game and was the first to cover back when others went forward. Lines 7 Hartlepool gave him time on the ball, which is what he relished. Lawrence 7.5 A perfect imitation of the Andy Monkhouse role. Not quick, but decent touches to settle the game before releasing Brown at exactly the right time. If he can continue to build the understanding with Brown, this is great attacking threat.
Taylor 9 Once he got his goal, he played with so much more confidence and showed his ball control. Gaffney 7.5 Linked up well and got a goal
Subs: Easter 5.5 Not much time, but handled easily by the Hartlepool defenders who had looked pretty dodgy for the rest of the game. Harrison 6 Wanted to make it work, wasn't given the time nor passes to. O. Clarke 6 Not on long but put in a crunching tackle
Crowd 7 Loved the chants aimed at their goalkeeper Ref 7.5 Couldn't complain with much that he did, maybe should have played an advantage to us at one point. No idea what he was discussing with the fourth official about for so long though Hartlepool 3 Really poor and on that showing, no idea how they drew with Northampton. Players went missing and made individual errors. James put lots of running in and looked like he could cause problems, but lacked support from the rest of the team.
