They didn't really sell out. There were plenty of seats in the tent and the west enclosure didn't look packed from the Dribuild seats. I have no doubt that at close of business yesterday the Police persuaded the club to call a sell_out to prevent possible disorder if only a few hundred could pay on the day when many more may have turned up expecting admission.

Why post nonsense like this, the home capacity is 10,000, Cambridge sold around 300 tickets so we sold around 9,900 where were the "few hundred" tickets going to be sold which you claim were kept back on Police advice??

The away attendance was given as something in excess of 400. Therefore, if you bother to do the maths, u will see there were several hundred tickets unsold. so, are the T/O staff incapable of working out that all home tickets haven't been sold, "ooh look, there's a whole lot of tickets showing as available on the database, what are we going to do? I know, let's send them to the match day office for sale on the day." Or Was the club advised to call it as a sell-out to avoid possible crowd problems? whatever you believe, it wasn't a sell out. You will never convince me that several hundred people went to the trouble of getting tickets to then not bother attending.

You will never convince me that several hundred people went to the trouble of getting tickets to then not bother attending. Is the crowd figure the number of tickets sold or the number that passed through the turnstiles ? Being a bank holiday I'm sure there were a number of season ticket holders who couldn't attend ,be that for work reasons or going away or other prohibitive reasons. It is likely though that if there were only a hundred or so places left they wouldn't allow them for pay on the day ,that would be seen as being irresponsible. It may also have been decided that it would be wise to hold a number of tickets back due to it being pay on the day for away fans and the temptation for home fans to use the away end. This would allow stewards to be able to escort home fans to another part of the ground without exceeding capacities. ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Bottom line is BRFC have outgrown the mem as it is. A new stadium being 2-3 seasons away ,should drastic action occur at the mem ? Demolish the DRI build stand ? Erect a full length temp stand behind the terracing ? But then what about the facilities lost ?...

The official capacity is 11900 reduced to probably 11500 with segregation, less 800 away spaces unfilled means 500 people with tickets didn't turn up. Ummmmmm.

Why would the club declare it a sell out mid afternoon all they had do was sell the tickets on line last night until they all went? The ground a capacity for home fans is 10,000 so there were 200 tickets at most not sold/fans didn't turn up, I hardly think that's going to be noticeable as spaces on the terracing? As far as the South Stand apparently H&S rules mean we can't sell every seat, if that rumour is true.
