RIP Paul - I worked with him a few years ago and played football with him on the odd occasion. Lovely bloke and a gentleman, very energetic and enthusiastic he would always talk to you.
Condolences to his family and friends. UTG

Awfully sad news. I used to work with his brother who's a lovely chap and massive Gashead also.
Terribly sad news; 42 is no age and has children too. Absolutely awful.
My heart goes out to all those who knew him.
RIP Paul

I knew Paul from AEK-Boco where he had coached his boys team up to U16 when they then moved into adult football. Won many trophies over the years, and was always on hand to offer advice to us other coaches who didn't, and still don't know half as much as he did about coaching a boys football team.
Was a massive Gashead and last time I saw him was when we had a cracking day out at Wycombe, on one of those awaydays where the result of the football becomes irrelevant due to the laugh you've had during the day and night.
RIP Paul, and condolences to the rest of the family. UTG.

I was with Paul's dad John before the game, he had mentioned he was on a bike ride and would be along later, and was getting a bit worried when Paul wasn't returning his calls. Obviously now we know why and it really is heart-breaking stuff. Paul was the most positive, upbeat type of bloke you could hope to meet, and was Rovers through and through. His dad was telling me excitedly before the game how he and Paul were planning to go to every away game until the end of the season, I really do hope we see his family back at the Rovers when they can bear it.

Life, and death, is so bleeding unfair. Sounds like an amazing man, and father.

I've stood with the family ever since we moved to the Mem' lovely people and Paul was just the nicest guy you could wish to meet. I was stood with John last Saturday, he left at half time as he sensed all was not well. Home games just wont ever be the same again.! R.I.P Paul

I went to the Mem today and there was a funeral car and followers leaving as I pulled in to the gate. I think that must have been for a chap called David Hale. I didn't know him, but a colleague went to his funeral today and mentioned the hearse would be going via The Mem.
